Guest
Goalless in 6 out of the 7. (in League) Conceded 11 Not good. Discuss. 3 of the games were against the top 3 mind but yeah, even if we were to say 3 out of the other 4, it's shite.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
When (if?) the club go shopping in the Summer one of the main criteria should be getting players who have a track record of regularly scoring goals. Never mind getting a defensive midfielder because he happens to be available at a bargain price, buy goal scorers. Most of the players we have bought in the last few years did not have a history of being goal scorers. Ben Arfa, Sissoko, Anita, Marveaux and even Cabaye had never scored 10 goals in a season for their previous clubs. Goals win games (and entertain the fans). We also need players who can take a decent set piece. We win a free kick now and expect little from it. There once was a time where we'd have Robert, Solano and Shearer standing over a free kick. Ryan Taylor is our only free kick specialist now Cabaye has gone. We need wingers who can whip crosses in to the danger areas. We haven't had players like that for years. Very difficult to get proven goal scoring midfielders where we shop (price wise).

Dave
Goalscorers tend to cost more money. Cisse and Xisco are the only strikers we've bought for more than £1.5m in Ashley's entire tenure.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
Cabaye had tbf. Very difficult to get proven goal scoring midfielders where we shop (price wise). I've just checked and you are correct. In 2009-2010 he scored 13 league goals and 2 in the cup. His best season by far goal scoring wise. His next best season was 7 goals in all competitions (he's currently on 7 goals this season too).

alexf
The tactics are crap and there's no creativity and a lack of finishing ability. The End. Yep.
Guest bimpy474
Not hard to see why we dont score that much when our primary tactic is to contain. Not that we do that well anyway, we concede for fucking fun.
