ponsaelius
Good game. Glided past the Northampton right back over and over with a simple move. Really? Nowt came off for him all night, in not even sure I saw him go past a fullback until about 80 mins after he was put to left back. I'm a big fan of him but he had a shocker. Guest
He'll have games like that. I'd be surprised if he's played 10 career matches yet and there's already a weight of expectation on him. I've no doubts he'll be quality but last night will happen time to time.

I was certain he skipped past the full back a few times. Was that Haidara....
BrettNUFC
He went on a mazy run in first half and went past a few players, then in the second half when he was at left back. Bar that it was performance of his off days in the reserves. Haidara didn't help him out at all with his passing up the line, sold him short time and time again. Expected Aarons to really put himself in the mix for a starting berth but this did him no favours. Tbf to him, he was on fire pre-season and should have been one of the first on team sheet against Southampton, he's now hardly played since pre-season so should be little surprise if he's went off the boil to an extent. captainhaircut
He went to left back when Haidara went off? I assumed Colback filled in there.
Marmoset
He's young, he'll be inconsistent for a while yet, it's nothing to worry about. We've all seen his potential quality when he has a good game. He's the kind who should be able to perform coming off the bench so as long as he keeps getting regular game time I've no problem with him not starting yet. James
Should always be a wild card for us this season rather than someon we expect to start and perform week in week out.
Figures 1-0 Football
I'd send him on loan to a decent Championship team, where he will play every week. Getting kicked by the shit teams in the Championship will toughen him up a bit and the confidence gained from playing in a good team/doing well will also. Skeletor
We should loan him so that Gouffran and Obertan get more game time.
DJ_NUFC
We have a strong tradition in ruining young players at this club, especially since the Pardew era.
Figures 1-0 Football
I'd send him on loan to a decent Championship team, where he will play every week. Getting kicked by the s*** teams in the Championship will toughen him up a bit and the confidence gained from playing in a good team/doing well will also. Dafuq did I just read? Why not? What will he achieve sitting on our bench and not playing regularly? I'm a firm believer that players need to play football to progress (ie, Armstrong). He's not good enough to start atm, so he will be limited to 20 minutes here and there. If we are keeping him long term, he will come back a better player - if we are going to sell him, then of course there is no point.

Figures 1-0 Football
Just to add - we are talking about a 19 year old who has only played 5 competitive games for us, he's never been out on loan or played competitive football on a regular basis. He was out injured for a majority of last season, of course he needs to play regularly!

Past evidence is "daft?" I hope you're right, of course, but I was pointing towards the last 3 games where Aarons should've started over Obertan. Heck, Aarons' grandmother should've started over the alien. I just don't think we should be loaning out someone who saved Pardew's fucking ass twice last season, enough for Pardew to injure the lad further by throwing him into the deep end when he wasn't even fully fit. If even Pardew can see this lad needs to be on the pitch for a bit o'majick, we need him starting ahead of the alien. Not loaned out to a division we know he will just waste his year in. Figures 1-0 Football
Thauvin and Perez are both ahead of Obertan. If you are saying Obertan is ahead of Aarons, then that makes Aarons 4th choice - even less playing time and even more reason to send him out on loan. Interpolic
Aarons will break his way into the side on a regular basis if he stays fit imo. His end product is too good to be ignored, assuming his performances so far are representative of his ability and not a fluke.
Figures 1-0 Football
Aarons is not going to start competitively for us all season, so we're gonna stick a 19 year old on the bench all season. Yet, you think he'll get nothing out of playing regularly in the Championship? Playing in a team that will do well in the Championship will do him the absolute world of good. Or even, send him on loan to someone like Bournemouth! Where he will be guaranteed a start!
Figures 1-0 Football
Look at Kevin De Bruyne, never played at Chelsea... Plays one full season at Wolfsburg - now look at him. Players need to play to excel. Whether we send him on loan to the Championship, Italy, Spain, Finland... the lad needs to play every week to succeed! DJ_NUFC
Nobody's discussing the merits and value of a season's loan for any given player. We're saying an absolute numpty (Obertan) has been given more time this season than letting Aarons develop as a player. If you want to look at how to blood young players into the fast pace of the top flight, see Wenger, Rodgers, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Guest
We can do short-term loans after the window can't we? Even 4 weeks at someone like Boro or something with a recall option.
