Guest SeattleToon
I was watching it on TV, and he was clearly onside. There didn't seem to be any other contact in the area, so I'm trying to figure out why Styles blew the whsitle. Announcers couldn't figure it out either. Dave
Twas actually a mint move and finish, and clearly onside. :wullie: Just like the Martins one.
indi
As Dave says, it was given offside, but not only was he onside, he was actually behind Emre when the ball was played, ripped off big-style!! So were they for the penalty like, so we can't really complain.
Dave
Roeder just said on Sky that the ref told him there was 'an infringement' in the build-up. Complete bollocks.
Guest Invicta_Toon
not dissallowed for offside but 'an infringement in the build up'

Wullie
Infringement my arse. Shambolic. I'd assumed the ref had overruled the linesman with an offside decision, there was no flag.
Guest Invicta_Toon
he placed the free kick on the spot it was passed from...
ujpest doza
Wasn't offside and linesmans flag never went up. Watching it again i can't see anything wrong, except earlyish in the move Emre seems to muscle his way through 2 players to get to the ball to play in Sibierski. Tenuous, but it wouldn't surprise me if the referee was just evening up the penalty that was very very dubious.
Superior Acuña
It was given offside. Not by the linesman, and i dont see how the ref could call it
PM
Yeah definitely not offside. No flag, no Indirect Free Kick signal (arm up). I had absolutely no idea why it was ruled out.
M4
Strange indeed then... because the timing of the whistle (it went just after Sib had taken it round the keeper) suggested offside.
Dave
It was given offside. Not by the linesman, and i dont see how the ref could call it I made that post when I thought it was given offside. Only afterwards did it come out about the 'infringement'.
PM
There was another incident in the 1st half where Styles blew for a free kick and the flag went up a couple of seconds after that, which also had me confused.
The Bonk
It was given offside. Not by the linesman, and i dont see how the ref could call it I made that post when I thought it was given offside. Only afterwards did it come out about the 'infringement'. Infringement?? What was the official ruling, then? I'm confused.
Dave
Styles apparently told Roeder it was an infringement in the build-up.
The Bonk
Styles apparently told Roeder it was an infringement in the build-up. I take it he didn't elaborate on who was infringing? Shady call from a dodgy ref.
madras
on three occasions the ref blew then looked (glared) at the milburn stand linesman for support.sibierskis disallowed goal and our penalty being two of the occasions.i'm as sure as i can be that the ref disallowed sibs goal for offside but after getting no backing from the linesman has had to come up with ana excuse. nowt wrong with sibs goal and never a penalty, evens out on this occasion. Martin Lol
Disallowed because Styles f*cked up then didn't have the balls to admit to his mistake.
