So we can't have a number on top of stripes, but arsenal can have a white number on a white shirt 🙄

If we wear a special shirt once per season in an attempt to get local yoots to stop shanking each other to death then I’m sure we’d get some leniency on the design too

Ghodoussi out buying the 95 shirt on his Instagram page.

Someone check with Spurs and Liverpool whether that counts as an APT, even though he's not an owner anymore.

I wonder if adidas will reissue this next:

Look at the fit of that!

Absolutely horrible nostalgia associated with it so got no idea why anyone would want it.

Needs to done by 'Boro and the Mackems then, as despite what the Daily Mail would have you believe Teeside and County Durham are the worst places per capita for knife crime on this Isle.

That may be so but we still wore it Tino delivered one of the most famous and memorable nights in the clubs history.

And David Beharall made his debut in it too.

That shirt and that night are legendary.

Faustino Asprilla, Peter Beardsley, Kevin Keegan, Stuart Pearce, Ian Rush, John Barnes, Alan Shearer, Louis Saha, Dietmar Hamann, Paul Gascoigne, Andy Cole, Chris Waddle and Kenny Dalglish to name all but a few wore that shirt with honour*. True icons of the English game.

*majority of whom were either well past their best or retired and playing in Beardsley’s testimonial for a kickabout.

Yeah I can’t hate that shirt simply because of that Barcelona game. An unpopular opinion but I loved the shield on the back and the Newcastle United scroll at the bottom

Unrelated but why did Dalglish sell Ferdinand and Tino? I knew he fell out with Ginola. Or at least didn’t approve of his lack of work rate. But why Ferdinand and Tino? Tino too inconsistent? Ferdinand….?

Ferdinand was to balance the books - Keegan was meant to bring in millions to offset the Shearer purchase.  Spurs offered an insane amount for a player his age.  Shearer then gets injured, we try to cancel the transfer but Ferdinand is upset that we agreed the sale and heads off.

I think Ginola fell out with NUFC more than anything else after we blocked a move to Barcelona in 1996.  He also was completely off the boil after getting kicked out of the game vs Arsenal in the LC QF in early ‘96.

Asprilla’s sale was simply a case of getting our money back for a player with a goal-to-games ratio akin to Ameobi.  All these years later and I’m still unpersuaded  that Asprilla was a good signing (yes, that night against a Barcelona side which finished bottom of our CL group was fun).

That shirt always reminds me of two moments:

Staying up late on a school night to watch one of the greatest matches the clubs ever had.

also loved the shield on the back but hated the neckline itchy as fuck.
