I thought NUFC.com had more match reports available from 97-98 but the above would point him to be being on the wing?

 

 

No, he played RWB.  I was at all of those games - Dalglish often played 3-5-2 (or, because it was Dalglish, 5-3-2).  His tactics and shape were often a complete mess by the end of 97/98.  Sometimes they would erroneously show Pistone at LW.  He wasn’t.  Beresford did play LW a few times that season, oddly enough - and bagged a few goals (he didn’t score often before that).

Tbh Barton often would effectively end up RW as Pistone (who was right footed) had a habit of playing both wings.

 

Barton did regularly play RW for Wimbledon before we signed him for an exorbitant fee, so his being out there wasn’t that crazy.

I’ve ordered a few things from them and it’s always spot on. I’ve found the stuff to be high quality too. Hope you get it sorted easily enough.

Nice one, cheers.  The hoodie the other lad ordered looks spot on.  So hoping the jumper I got will be similar and they get it out to us no bother.

Just got the home top after flying through Gatwick. Was cheaper than both the high street price and the price in Canada so win-win for me. Not as good quality as the one I had as a kid, which could be rose tinted glasses, but seems pretty decent stitching wise etc

JD Sports in Gatwick. I will say I’ve been pleasant surprised by how prominently placed the kit’s been in both Canadian and UK shops. I realize it’s different over here because of accessibility but the top used to never be stocked in Canadian shops.

Asprilla sqeezed plenty of assists and goals into ten games. One less goal than Ferdinand and the sort of assists only the likes of him could do (West Ham and Liverpool)

Apart from Batty and Albert there was nobody better than him in the run-in. Its an infuritating narrative.

 

Two understated what ifs - if we'd have kept Fox (great money though) given Gillespie's subsequent injury or if we'd have kept Venison.
