Charlie Austin just scored around 20 goals in a team worse than we were. If you're a good striker you'll score goals.

 

QPR didn't go down because they didn't create chances, they were a lot better than us in that department. Most strikers would struggle to score for a team which doesn't put decent delivery into the box, doesn't pass through midfield or have decent off the ball movement.

 

Only scored 2 more goals than us.

 

And what does that have to do with creating chances?  Never said they didn't have a problem scoring I said they didn't have a problem creating.

I think it's depressing our fans think this way tbh, either way the question was :"what strikers are available". The only barrier to getting decent players is the fact Ashley won't run the club in a way that facilitates it. We have plenty of money.

 

It's inevitable fans end up thinking this way tbh. I said above that Austin would be a better fit for us than Mitrovic, but that's only because I know we won't build the sort of team that would allow an exciting talent to flourish like say Liverpool or even Spurs would. If we would go out of our way to sign Mitrovic quality players all over the pitch then I'd rather sign him.

He wants to stay at Lyon until after the Euros as he doesn't want to take the risk of not playing at a new club and so losing out on a place in the French squad.

If you look at it that way, there's literally nobody we can sign then. Jordan Rhodes maybe, or similar ilk.

 

Too expensive - they want about £10m don't they which is why no-one has taken the risk.
