Murphy has done great with years of brilliant coaching, and guess what? He'll be upgraded in the Summer because his ceiling won't be good enough either. McEwan
I was thinking the same thing especially last year when we were short CMs and starting Miley every game. Even if he's total crap, it's more useful than carrying a 5th keeper on the squad. You could at least imagine a possibility where we sell Longstaff, and maybe Willock and Bruno get injured and you might want him there just for bench cover. AdoptedGeordieFromPompey
He's a good player at Championship level and has looked good in the past few for Pompey but he's just nowhere near Toon's level for where they are or where they want to be.
andycap
We would've kept Dummett and Ritchie if we were in Europe this year so surely he could be useful.
WilliamPS
For whatever reason he was straight into the bomb squad - along with Gayle, Hendrick etc. He has had no future at the club since Howe joined. Even Fraser was given a crack and Hayden wasn’t, to me they suggests he’s nowhere near what the club need.
Yorkie
Can't believe he's still on the books. Feels like a lifetime ago that he was kicking a ball about for NUFC. If he's doing alright at Pompey it would be good if we could just cancel his contract and finally let him go.
