Guest chopey
Rafa took loads of stick at the time but then most teams copied his tactics against city, Bruce just sat and did nothing, he didn't target Mendy or have Almiron close to Carrol who was battering the Cuty defence. Dan Gleebals
You do not set up like that against a brilliant team in a quarter final. Go for them from the off and rattle then, then resort to a more closed shop approach if you are winning/doing well. We basically said from the off, this is all yours. You get your passing and shooting practice in. Fucking horrible tactics.
Guest neesy111
The thing is city have been vulnerable this season, you've got to try and give it a small go first half.
Andy
The first half was shocking like, it wasn't disciplined or organised, we were just desperately throwing bodies in front of the ball which obviously isn't sustainable. Carroll being stood on the half way line by himself was a bonkers tactic, given that Almiron and ASM were basically full backs but were the closest players to him. Might as well have just stuck ASM up front, at least he might've been able to carry the ball or possess some kind of threat chasing after the hoofs. Second half was an improvement but that isn't saying much.
Paully
Viewing figures of 5.1m were treated to that majestic first half of front-foot attacking Bruceball!
