I do think the training ground one is dragging on a bit, but I have also always been under the impression that they one of the government buildings in either Benton or along Benton after they move into the city centre. The stadium one is frustrating in the sense that it keeps getting promised that we’ll hear something and we don’t. However what would you rather have, then rush releasing what they are doing and getting it wrong, or wait a little longer and get the stadium perfect? Solis being Head of Direct European Investments and on our board is another key indicator that its a massive priority. They simply cannot throw money at the playing squad because of rules that came in post takeover that resulted in whatever original plan they underwrote having taken a massive hit. They could have changed their mind and cut us loose or pushed us down the pecking order but instead they've basically max'd out the playing squad investment as often as possible within the rules and are close to announcing a billion+ investment that the city of Newcastle likely never gets without them. I'm all for holding the owners to task but there is literally nothing else they can do. They could not give tens of millions to our competitors... Like I say, I'm relaxed about it. And I don't think we're necessarily a low priority. Just not the top one. To me it appears we're just one part of an overreaching vision to invest heavily in football at a global scale. Yep, and both can be true. It takes time, but people can still be frustrated with it.

You do realise that WCC prize money was agreed and published long before PIF got involved yeah? So those clubs were getting their money regardless, and it’s not like them investing elsewhere will prevent them from spending what they can on us too. They invest that money expecting to make a return on it, not to strengthen our rivals. If anything it shows how massive their commitment to football, and consequently us, is. I think some people’s gripe with them is they invest in other things than us, when a) what they can invest in us is capped by anti-competitive rules and b) they are a massive investment fund, investing is what they do. Like it or lump it, we are part of a bigger portfolio. Unlike under Ashley though there is no sign whatsoever that we are being leached for their benefit. Quite the contrary I’d say. As pointed out, the presence at games of their chairman shows they are not only financially invested, but emotionally as well. Eales announced he was stepping down in September And we went on to win a trophy and qualify for the UCL. Eales presence in the transition period has hardly had a detrimental effect. The club hired two people at least off top of my head to grease the wheels of the stadium project and guessing training ground. Would imagine when Eales leaves (next month?) someone will be in place.
