Some very naive posters in here like.

To think howe hasn't got a scooby about what prices they're bidding for his targets.

That's not what you said though?

It all seems to me like eddie is a power hungry type of man.

Two very good dofs gone sharpish,

Pushing your experienced recruitment scouts to minor duties over a newbie.

Having final say on all transfers then coming out with psr spiel after spending a fuckload on ill fitting players for your system.

Having to get rid of minteh and Anderson after another psr debacle under his tenure. 😂

Last sentence is a bit harsh in my humble opinion.

Don’t think anyone is saying he doesn’t know the price. It cannot reasonably be said that it is any manager’s job to account for financial implications in modern football.

This is where Eales and PIF have gotten off easy and where Eddie should not be taking the brunt of the blame.

And if you’re blaming Eddie for Minteh and Anderson then you clearly aren’t trying to argue anything in good faith.

It might be, but we obviously were close to the limit at that time to not see this coming.

I did he tells them who he wants and will be notified about the price.

You seemed to insinuate that he is in charge of the negotiated price.

Eddie likes people he trusts. Blood is thicker than water. Just be glad Andy Howe isn’t a left back.

Howe has worked with him for over a decade. It's not like he's just grabbed a random cousin from a call centre gig.

The length of time someone has been in a job doesn’t make it not nepotism, surely.

It suggests Howe would put Andy in an important role over someone who is apparently much better than him, because they're related.

He could just trust Andy because they've worked together for over a decade.

It's no different than him being insistent on Tindall being his assistant.

Tindall has an exceptional record though. Andy Howe has last summer and I've got no idea what else. Nickson has an exceptional track record for finding talent.

Sorry man, I’m just pissing about online.

Honestly, I would much prefer someone not related to the manager being high up in recruitment. I think it causes issues.

but I don’t care that much.

Sorry but what exactly is Tindall’s exceptional record? Telling Eddie we are at the 60 minute mark better get on with it.

Just checked and Andy Howe has been a head scout for longer than Nickson.

I've been a man longer than Bruno G, it doesn't mean I'm better at it than him.

4 or 5 promotions as an Ass Man and iirc Eddie spoke very highly of him in the Bournemouth documentary that came out s few years ago.

Andy's been on Howe's scouting team for over a decade, they have an exceptional record together. The summer transfer window was bad but it doesn't remove the good work he did before it.

Recruitment and wasting money is a big part of what got Bournemouth relegated. He had control then. At first here, there were multiple voices, last summer was the first where it was Eddie with the major say. And those are Eddie type signings historically. So I don’t know that Andy Howe is a good scout. I know we don’t have enough top class scouts or first team coaches for that matter. Clearly new ideas are needed.
