Been going backwards for 18 months though…

Yes I wish we could name and shame those numpties.

Two of my friends in my local got it from both barrels about 6 weeks ago.  Yes they wanted Eddie Howe replaced.  I've been biting my tongue but I have to say it, arseholes the lot of them and they are now hiding.  🤨

Next time you see them give them both a daft slap from me.

Haven’t seen it mentioned, but Howe has turned it round during the Xmas / New Year period, which for NUFC is a historical achievement in itself, because we’re usually utter shite during that period.  01/02 still sticks in the memory (mainly for me because I was at Highbury and Elland Road for two epic matches), but this has to be right up there, and we are pretty much always shite during this period.

Can't remember many festive set of fixtures where I've been as happy with the outcomes as this year. It's been a Christmas cracker!

I said the same to the wife this morning.  I said that we were normally as miserable as sin from Boxing Day onwards.  This is a much better feeling.

Would have taken two draws in 01/02. Would have felt a win at either was a treat. To win both and smash Boro on boxing day.

Think it was more appreciated as bonus than the Keegan years, like getting a second shot at life or something - very Its a Wonderful Life really. Was a white Christmas too snowed like mad the Leeds night at least.

Eddie though, comes through these patches, proven it time and again - I believe in the bloke. Think that's a big thing with managers - trusting that they can turn things around, adapt etc.  Be ideal but unrealistic if he/we didn't have them.

Love the cut of his jib personally.

Assumed he'd have manager of the month in the bag and then realised December is a long ol' month and includes that  bloody Brentford result. Of course he'll be pipped by Nuno.

Well tbf Nuno probably deserves it... 😄

I thought this the other day. We are normally bollocks at Christmas. Sure we’ve lost more on Boxing Day than anyone else, gives me PTSD thinking back to going to Wigan away to see us lose 1-0 what felt like every Boxing Day when I was like 17/18ish.

Was one of them 2-0 losing to a Ryan Taylor masterclass, led by Steve Bruce?

Quite possibly, you know. Realising just now that it was the bacon fantasiser that led them to the win has ruined the whole festive period for me

2002 to 2010 was grim.

My daughter was born on the day of  the 3-1 at Man Utd so haven’t been to a Boxing Day game since the hilarity of the Stoke game.

Was at Bolton 07 and then the two Wigan’s.

Done Bolton when we won 0-2 and had the mother of all chest infections. Worth it for some Ben Arfa and Ba magic.

People who randomly doubt him have every right when we had the bad run earlier as their rights as toon fans but very clear as day the grass is not always greener and we have a top elite football manager who’s likely spent every lasting moment since Monday prepping for Saturday and the cup semifinal. Our man. HTL.

I was at the Leeds 94/95 one. Had to ditch the car and driver to get to the match.... he turned up 20mins after ko.

My major boxing day memories are Grimsby 80/81. Not my first away but my first 'real' away. Local coach booked from our estate, me and my mate the youngest by 5 or 6 yrs. Think it was Mick Harfords debut. I still associate the smell of Mcewans Export with Boxing day.

Fucking hell man......I was 13.
