when you don't captain Haaland - of course he scores a hattrick :mung:

Could be worse. I decided to buy him back, but missed the deadline for this week.

I had a brainfart moment that make me choose TAA as a captain, I thought that TAA will excel against Spurs shitty set piece defend, only to give me a big 0 point.

Ok - i'll be brain dumping my thought process as I go for NO league #1 and a top 5-10k finish worldwide.

Almost certainly going BB37

I have 2FT. There's a possibility that I burn a transfer.

Defence

I have 3 single GWs that I'm considering swapping out all in defence Branthwaite - Sheff U (H), White & Gabriel - Man U (A).

I don't like any of the defensive options though. I could get Gvardiol for an Arsenal CB, swap out Ederson for Vicario. That gets me 1 more fixture for free, and probably a better City defensive option.

This feels a bit defensive though.

Attack

I'm tempted to take out B. Fernandes as a luxury. Richarlison, Havertz or Saka. Even though Arsenal only have 1 game, I can see them racking it up at Man U as reparations for the 7-2 all those years back. Havertz & Saka could easily outscore DGW options. Man U are one of those teams that could easily implode. But also, they could get a jammy 1-0, Fernandes pen, full BPS and kill Arsenal's title charge. I think Richarlison is a great FPL asset and he makes Spurs a much better team. DGW, at home, excellent hunger and movement in the box, 2 home fixtures. But he's a minutes risk and isn't on penalties.

This feels like a bit of a needless risk. I genuinely hate Man U though... more than any other club. So anti-Man U sentiment may be driving some of my logic. Having to hope Fernandes scores against Arsenal (who I want to win the league and might have a defensive double up on) and us especially as we are league rivals... is a nasty feeling.

Benefit of this is Spurs & Arsenal have good fixtures in GW38 if I want them for that too

Captaincy

Honestly I'm tempted to go Isak. I love him as a player. He'll score against Brighton and he'll get chances at OT. If he had the hat-trick against Burnley and scored his pen I would be all-in. Him missing and possibly starting with Wilson makes me think Wilson gets the next one though. And he might get subbed. It's a risk. My gut is going here I'll be honest.

Haaland is the obvious choice. That 4th goal shows he has his swagger back. On penalties. City might need to un up the GD. He's surely going to eat off that Spurs high line. It's just both are away. This is so obvious when you type it out.

I like Son as an option too.

My initial free hit draft

I'm really tempted to start Jackson as I feel like Chelsea are finally starting to get going. However the game at Forest will be difficult as they will see it as win and stay up!

Might also swap Ederson for Vicario and somehow squeeze KdB in.

Isak was my lean too, but I am worried he'll be less of a focal point with Wilson back, maybe taking more of a playmaker role.

I really don't want to captain Haaland like everyone else.

I want to captain someone I want to root for, which is a bad approach.

Isak is a good alternative.  But you are right, Wilson could easily be a focal point, score more and take penalties.

It’s close for me.

I’m tempted to bring in a Brighton defender for a left field move.

Ended up burning my transfer.

I had Vicario & Gvardiol transfer ready at 10:58. But my gut was against the move for some reason. So I bailed.

Dont know why. Gvardiol is my biggest threat. Getting him would give me the ideal bench boost team.  I just prefer Ederson in goal in 38 and I fancy an attacking return for my Arsenal defender or Branthwaite. That second element is the gut. I don’t think it’s the logical choice.

Can't believe I've nearly made it a full season without packing this all in. First time I've done that in a decade.

Just casually getting 21 points from Gvardiol, but still being annoyed about Walker owners getting a CS when he started on the bench. Don't mind me.

My FPL strategy has been all season. Just go with the obvious moves. Whatever most makes sense on Mon/Tues do that just before the deadline if no injuries.

Had a clear strategy. Either go Richy or use the double transfer defensively and block Gvardiol. But I thought - ‘it’s Gvardiol, he might get 1 attacking return. If that.’
