Yet another knockback, hardly seems worth bothering anymore

If it wasn't for the slim chance of getting something in general sale or resale there wouldn't be no point as all. Got us by the bolllocks though because if you don't renew your membership there's zero chance of getting in.

Ballot results are shocking this season but tbh the resales have been much much better. I've only missed out on Liverpool this season but we all know why that queue was so big. Still believe there should be a cap on the memberships though.

Ballot results last season and this season below for comparison:

Why was the queue so big for Liverpool? Scousers buying memberships?

Quite possibly. Expect a few to get into our end and loads in corporate. Apparently there was absolutely loads of Arsenal fans in that Wings hospitality area at the last game.

It’s £456 to get in there for the Liverpool game. If they’re willing to pay that then good luck to them…

Imagine it would have been the same price against Arsenal, or very similar and by all accounts there was loads of them in there. Be interesting to see if it's the same v Liverpool.

Still remember when they took over our corporate areas en masse back in 2019 with a little help from Mike Ashley!

We sit in the row directly in front of it, so I often think how mad it is that people are paying x10 what we’re paying, effectively for the same view plus a bit of grub and a nicer bar area.

Can’t say I noticed many Arsenal fans, although I wasn’t particularly looking, and unless they had colours on they wouldn’t have been conspicuous at any kind of distance.

Well you certainly wouldn't have noticed them celebrating a goal [emoji38]

Bother all over that game - Rafa’s last home game, 8pm Saturday kick-off and they scored a cheating late winner!

As others have mentioned the Liverpool game from a few years back. Nah, fuck that. For me the section of corporate that allows away fans is the directors box and applies to the away teams directors, owners, unavailable players, and their families only.

Buying an expensive ticket in corporate, or semi-corporate isn’t the same, and should still be reserved for home fans only.

Aye it was a proper bear pit atmosphere. I was up in Block V of the Gallowgate where loads of the daft lads used to congregate. About 5 minutes into the game I remember a Scouser getting thrown down the steps that separated U and V. He didn't have the nest of landings the poor soul [emoji38]

After that the 1st half just seemed to be people trying to sniff out Scousers and those that were found, and there were a few, were getting dealt with rather harshly shall we say.

I'm almost certain I had one sat directly in front of me. He was just sitting there quietly, but it was clear he was absolutely shitting himself from the start and he got up and left after Van Dijk scored their 1st goal and there must only have been about 15 minutes gone. What a waste of a ticket, and his money!

Always say it was one of the best atmospheres I've experienced in SJP. It was a crazy atmosphere and rare to leave a game we've lost thinking that was great to be part of.

When I think of all the best atmospheres I've been in at SJP over the years, Portsmouth in 1992, Leicester in 1993, Man Utd 96, Barcelona 97 etc it's right up there. The hostility was different level!

One of the best atmospheres I've experienced was Chelsea at home back in Div 2 when ourselves, them, Sheff Wed and Man City were challenging for promotion. I think a couple of Newcastle fans had been stabbed outside the Strawberry the season before and, for what seemed at least the last 20 minutes of the game, what felt like the whole ground were singing 'Chelsea must die'. Fortunately no one did, but Chelsea were chased all over the city with lads jumping over walls to get at them at Manors.

Happy days......

I wasn't born until 1978 and didn't start going until the final game of that season (Keegans farewell v Liverpool) but heard plenty of stories about when Chelsea would visit back in the day. Apparently a few of our fans were slashed by some of their lost in the Farmers Rest. Think of all the London clubs Chelsea would bring the biggest away following.

Remember each game like yesterday. The best season. Particularly that 5-0 against City

Chelsea always brought the biggest number of followers from London in those days

What time can you normally join the queue for resale?

Around about half hour before go live.

Doesn't make a difference how early you get on though, as long as you are there before the sale starts
