How many of our supposed targets moved on to other clubs?

I really fucking hope Ashworth and Co have something up their sleeves. I want to end the window saying, "oh... that's why we didn't sign Cornet".

Generally it feels like most of the sagas have been resolved early this summer. That said, I still expect the likes of Ronaldo, Bernardo, Tielemans, De Jong, Paqueta and Ruiz to be on the move in the next three weeks.

It'll be because they hadn't planned to sell him yet. They'll want compensating for that.

Yeah, this is supposed to be his big season as he didn't really start next year. He's supposed to be stepping into the slot that opened up with Adeyemi leaving, and they'll be anticipating a big season and therefore a big fee for him next summer, and so they are taking all of that into account.

There's no way we don't get another 1 at least. Could well be a loan in which case it won't be till the last week or so. But I've no doubt in my mind we'll have another 1 minimum.

Hope not, will be a massive missed opportunity. We have a chance of finishing in the top six with a few more additions.

We need back up for Wilson but there’s no doubt we’re looking at loan options having missed out on Ekitike.

For elsewhere we should only buy if it’s a clear upgrade, be that midfield or right wing.

We looked very capable yesterday and if it means keeping our powder dry & helping with ffp/ waiting til our revenue increasing through sponsorship I’m happy with that. We have to be shrewd and it’s seems pretty clear that’s how we’re approaching this.

Pretty sure @LV was joking ?

Ha, apologies. 14 years of fat Mike and his 'line' it was always impossible to get over means any talk like that well and truly triggers me now ?

Loans probably make decent sense at this point. It’s pretty clear what level of player we’re after — it just looks like the circumstances this summer don’t make any more of those kinds of permanent deals particularly likely (a lot of time left still, though, so who knows). Rather a decent loan or two now, and hopefully be in a better position later, than locking into lesser targets (all indications are we’re not going to do that anyway, but just sayin’).

Romano said a striker and a creative midfielder. Can a creative midfielder be a winger or is it more Maddison type?

When did he say this ?

It would be risky, but I wouldn’t be opposed to buying Sesko and loaning him back if we could get someone else on loan.

Doing this out of next year’s budget would be decent.

At this point Broja would be ideal imo. Right wing is a bit of a conundrum, Fraser is ok, Miggy is looking a bit better but he can barely stand on his right front never mind kick a ball with it.

Shelvey and Willock are ok as the 3rd midfield player, especially with Bruno and Jo in there. There’s a drop

off when we then introduce Longstaff and Anderson could benefit from another loan.

If say Diaby and Pacqueta can wait a year and we can start doing deals I’m quite happy with a loan striker and sit tight. I’d absolutely take Maddison but that gone very quiet.
