He'd have probably got his move if he didn't wait until there was only viable option left and who they themselves had just dropped 90m on another striker. Like, do this in a year with a fucking Instagram post and a transfer request and literally no one kicks off. This couldn't have been handled worse. LaurentRobert
Ornstein, Jacobs and Romano have really gone cold on this "transfer" in the last week. Those nonces had been talking this move up nonstop for almost a month beforehand. You would suspect their sudden radio silence would suggest that even they are losing confidence in this deal being completed. Isak must be bricking it. LaurentRobert
Isak still has a chance to turn this around. Sign a new contract this week, apologize, start in the Liverpool game and smash the scousers, all would be quickly forgotten then. None of that will sadly happen however. The least likely of all the things you said. Whatever happens, we will never hear an apology for any of this from him. The best we might get is a quote from some random journalist saying "Isak apparently regrets how the situation unfolded with Newcastle".

Kid Icarus
I wonder what would come out on top in a poll among Newcastle fans - who's opinion matters more to you? Our dedicated away fans who largely follow the club home and away come rain or shine, or those who look down on them despite likely rarely setting foot in Newcastle, let alone being in the away end. I guess we'll never know. Edited August 19, 2025 by Kid Icarus

Maybe the away fans want to win, but also want their club and home city to be at the very least respected by the players who represent it. Shocking opinion in this day and age but hey, maybe they’re just coked up wronguns in the away end.

I’m more concerned with winning things too, but I still view that those who actually travel up and down the country and spend a massive chunk of their hard-earned are a better litmus test than someone like me. That’s the club’s hardcore support.

Not away fans, but never forget the Pardew protest against Hull. Was told to sit down by most when holding up my banner. Felt sickened. Didn't go a game for 9 years after that. Would love him to do that this week, but think it’s too much of a risk to bring him back to training ahead of Liverpool game as people mentioned a few weeks back. This time next week, the 2nd and final bid from Liverpool either comes in or he’s coming back with tail between his legs. Liverpool need another attacker, so if they decide against Isak, they would only have one week to make a move. Potentially radio silence from Liverpool because they’re working away behind closed doors on the new target, hence nothing being leaked to the usual guys. Isak current situation works in Liverpools hands.

Toonpack
The big variable in all this are the views of the rest of the team, we don't know how they feel but whatever happens that'll have tp play into any decision, they may well want him gone no matter what. May be just coincidence but seems to have been after Ormstein said Isak told us 2 weeks before the season ended he wanted to leave, then he got bombarded with his own quote saying he was saying he was staying. Potentially realisation that they're being fed shit by the agent? Edited August 19, 2025 by Optimistic Nut

If you pay your money and spend your time going, then are a proper fan. The more you go, the more seriously your views should be taken for me re how the club is treated by anyone. It’s their club at the end of the day - I stopped going early in the Ashley years, but I’m not going to judge anyone for continuing to go. I still watched every week - I just didn’t get off my arse and it didn’t cost me a penny. I’m not at all comfortable with armchair supporters calling an entire away end cokeheads because they called out Isak’s bullshit behaviour.

Actively enabled a fella to bleed everything out of the club. "One greedy bastard" is just so lazy. Imagine being one of the best in the world in your field, being able to double your wage for being able to do the same job and not being able to. I bet you'd be a bit pissed as well. He's been an absolute arsehole because he should be honouring his contract, training and playing, but it's hardly being greedy. Well the stick the away fans gave him on Saturday suggests not. Certainly nobody I've spoken has any time for him now, after the disrespectful he's shown to the club, fans, manager and his teammates. The club doesn’t receive any income from away tickets tbf. I’m not sure how much anything was enabled - sure, an empty SJP would be embarrassing for the PL, but I think it’s easy to forget that some folks build their lives around going to the match with their mates. For many it’s their only social outlet - and it’s not about winning, drawing or losing. Going to football is meant to be a bit of fun, after all - I sometimes wonder whether or not I used to take it too seriously. Ashley was a cunt who mishandled the club and insulted us while doing it. Just like pretty much every other cunt who’d run it before him. He bled money from the club - just like his immediate predecessor. Going home and away every week eats up a massive portion of your life - and if they’re completely fucked off with Isak acting like a spoiled greedy little cunt, they absolutely have the right to call that out. If I’m being sober about it, it probably doesn’t help, we would be better off with Isak for another season and Howe hinted at that a little - but it’s their club, and that shouldn’t be forgotten. If I was still a home and away regular, I’m not sure I wouldn’t have expressed exactly the same sentiment.
