This is it for me, too many fans are like contact = foul nowadays.

Yeah and referees too sometimes! Football's not a no-contact game, but it is those key ideas of 'is the challenge careless, reckless etc.' that typically makes something a foul.

Hell, even if you don't make contact with the player it can still be a foul if you threaten injury or prevent them playing the ball due to fear of injury.

Saliba makes contact with the ball though.

Had Saliba not made any contact with the ball then I'd agree with you but he does.

Horrible decision IMO.

That is the more favourable angle for Saliba. This one shows it in a different light for me as he is looking straight at the original ball and misses it completely,  catching Pedro. His touch after was not intentional at all.

It is so obviously a foul from that angle  Not even up for debate. Just a late, clumsy header attempt that has slapped the striker.

I muted the tiktok child so no clue what he is wasting air on.

Again, making contact with the ball is irrelevant if his challenge was careless, reckless etc.

I guess I just don't see an attempt to head the ball as careless and reckless then.

Can a 50/50 where both players just try to head the ball be careless and reckless though? It’s just a standard duel.

Well, you can fairly attempt to win a 50/50 tackle with your feet and foul the man if you are late.

I don't think we need to get caught up calling this careless or reckless. It is simply late.

Yeah it is a judgement call at the end of the day, and if you don't think it meets the definitions then no free kick for you and that's fair enough.

But, he is sticking his head into where someone already has their head and so risks the clash of heads that way, in the same way attemping to kick a ball and being late and kicking the player would often be a foul.

There's no exact dividing line here, it's a judgement really on whether he was showing sufficent care and attention in his challenge.

Wanting Man U to get smashed but then remember that helps Liverpool

Confused Curb Your Enthusiasm GIF

They have already won the league, if they haven't then it will only be Arsenal that might catch them and not sure which is worse so I'm here for another Man U embarrassment.

This. I’m on the side of no penalty. Just highlights how hard it is for modern day referees and the intense scrutiny they face.

Hoping for Ipswich to beat Fulham first of all. The top 3-8 are madly congested, so could do without Fulham in that mix as well.

Oh and also for Ipswich to gain a few points on Man U and Spurs, see if they start to panic at teams below them picking up points.

Not that there's any chance of either team being in any real danger - just want them to feel a bit of the creeping fear we had for years. Because I am very petty.

Hibs vs Rangers has been canny - 2-2 now

Hibs are one of those clubs that I just fucking hate. No reason at all, although I do have a little soft spot for Hearts.
