“The achievement is huge," stated Howe. "Naturally, when we lose  the game, there is a disappointment. I think we have to override that with the 38 games of the season to qualify for the competition. It is a huge moment for the club.

"I do think it's a window we have to be active in and I'm sure we will be. We haven't recruited strongly in three windows and I think eventually that catches up with you continue not to change.

"We felt that potentially last summer which is why it's an amazing achievement from the players to see this season through. But yes, it is going to be a big transfer window for us."

What’s the estimation of how much more to spend getting In CL will give us ?

I guess it's how much the Champions League brings in plus extra home games etc maybe 40 or 50m?

What i want to know is can we finally get a Champions league level training kit and training ground sponsor to boost it further.

What I’d like to see, three options for each position I want us to strength:

GK - Trafford, Chevalier or Garcia

CB - Thiaw, Guehi or Diomande

CM - Baleba, Wharton or Xavi Simons

RW - Kubo, Mbeumo or Bardghji (down year, still think he could be class)

ST - Delap, David or Kang-in Lee (not really a striker but can play in different positions)

Aye, let me dream.

Atleast the game today revealed glaring issues with the team. The lack of creativity and finesse for instance. Having another very good midfielder wouldn't hurt. We really lack depth in that position. The new winger will hopefully be technically gifted aswell, although knowing Eddie he would also need to have a good workrate.

In terms of revealing the clear needs of the team if it is to progress without any meaningful cost (though a win would have netted about £6 million more in prize money no?) that wasn't far off the perfect result. If you watched that game you might only question the need for a new keeper, I firmly believe we do need a new one but based on the game alone you might question it. The need for pace at CB, more guile and penetration at RW and someone to challenge/take the load of Isak upfront was all so obvious. You could even add a midfielder to that list as well.

It feels great to be pretty confident that these needs will be met as well.

You’d say we were front of the queue for Delap now wouldn’t ya? Can offer him a lot of first rate football, Champions league and a fan base that will love his high press style.

And the famed No9 shirt (Isak likes the 14).
