£8m well spent.

Probably not even a quarter of that unless we're back to doing Llambias math for transfer values.

Was 3.5m total apparently and even that figure was inflated with performance clauses which we never paid obviously.

He suffered a knee injury before he joined which meant Man City no longer wanted him.

At the time he signed, Man City were getting a lot of heat after an injured youngster they released killed himself after City basically fucked up his chances of finding a football career elsewhere.

so this transfer has to be looked at with through that lens

Not surprised, thought he looked like he'd never set foot on a football pitch in his life in one of the pre season friendlies he played either last summer or the summer before (can't remember when it was).

Someone (who I presume is his dad) posted a compilation of his performance against Espanyol.

Lots of energy, but his touch was like a trampoline.

Remember this lad looking like he had something a couple of pre-seasons ago in the Girona and Brest games, obviously nowhere near ready for the first team, but there was something there. That said, Jamie Miley absolutely bossed one of those games in the middle of the park and he was peddled to Hartlepool not long after.

Last year he was dreadful, and it's not like he'd just hit a wall by staying in the U21s and he was too good for that level or anything like that, he was just absolutely nowhere near, proper "supporter won a raffle to get a game" stuff.

Hopefully he works it out and goes on to have a decent career at a reasonable level.
