Aye, but Doncaster look set to take one of those automatic spots. They dropped from the Championship to League Two about 10 years ago due to having a severe injury crises. Managers poached, big name players poached etc all since then.
54 Posted Saturday at 16:27 Share Posted Saturday at 16:27 Big day in the Football League: Carlisle drop out of the Football League. Cardiff Relegated to League 1. Plymouth basically relegated to League 1. Doncaster and Port Vale promoted to League 1.

Purchased the club for £2m and now, after their third back-to-back promotion yesterday, it's valued at a respectable £100 million. That's a 4900% Return on Investment 😳 First club in the top six divisions of the English league pyramid to record three back-to-back consecutive promotions as well. The club ended the 23/24 fiscal year with £27.9m in revenue – which was a record high revenue for a League Two club. They're on track to repeat that feat this season and notch a record high revenue for a League One club. Originally, the duo had given the club a £15 million loan to bankroll the beginning of its climb, the loan was registered as paid back in full in their 23/24 financials, meaning the club's essentially being run in a self-sufficient manner these days where the money invested into transfers, ground renovation and training ground rebuild all coming from money the club itself is generating and not from the pockets of Reynolds and McElhenney. For all the hatred of US owners, I struggle to think of a lot of better run clubs in the English league system than Wrexham. I'm excited to see how they'll adjust to the Championship. Started from higher base but they’ve navigated L1/L2 better than Salford FC.

I fail to see how a team who were competing in the National League just 2 years ago is now valued higher than say Sunderland who have a 49k capacity stadium, have a recent history of being in the Premier League, and have been either in the play offs, or just missed out of the play offs in each of the last 3 seasons. That said, the exact "reason" the press has referred to the club being valued at "£100 million" boils down to them doing some quick maths based on US investment firm, Welch Allyn, Inc, coughing up £15 million to RR McReynolds, LLC, for 15% ownership. Also, for an investor; a strong, valuable brand with global recognisability >>>>>> random football club that may or may not have done ok at football in the past decade or so Edited Sunday at 14:41 by Kaizero
wyn davies Posted Sunday at 14:50 Share Posted Sunday at 14:50 Wrexham will find its a tough life in the championship, won't get out of this situation easy, and they can deffo forget about promotion to premier league and staying there.
