BergenMagpie
Remember watching this a few years ago thinking Leicester would be another team we would never be able to catch up with. They're obviously a very likeable club, but felt nice that we tore them up that easily yesterday
elbee909 Posted Monday at 05:33 Share Posted Monday at 05:33 Leicester winning the league, and then having that team torn apart by the moneyed lot, is a great example of the problems facing the PL. Even if you win it, if you're not loaded, you're done for, destined to be picked over by the teams with more financial clout. Closed shop indeed. JEToon Posted Monday at 07:07 Share Posted Monday at 07:07 (edited) Probably sound a bit wankier than it is meant to but even though they won the league and it was a great achievement never felt the Leicester team was that great or torn apart like. It is still even now incredibly weird they actually won it with the team they had, they probably had better teams since winning it The warning sign to us for me really is when it comes to us and the idea if we sell Bruno for instance for 100 million it will just all be easy and we can go and add 5 for 20 million etc, it’s not as easy as that, Leicester done a lot of trading and started to take their team backwards Edited Monday at 07:09 by JEToon

It definitely precipitated the current situation, 'we can't let this happen again'. And sure enough they aren't

By the end of that season, people knew Kante was the real deal and he was sold. But Mahrez & Vardy ended up being legit top players themselves. 8 hours ago, Danh1 said: All voted in by the clubs. Turkeys voting for Christmas and all that. This isn't the case and we need to stop the false narrative. The PL is the gravy train. At a point there were 2 clubs that didn't care to make money from it and 4 other clubs wildly successful that wanted to remain in the top 4. None of those top 6 would likely get relegated. 14 others just wanted to stay on the gravy train. They voted in rules to ensure no more than 6 clubs could become relegation-proof. 14 other spots are up for grabs. Us & Villa's owners could make our clubs unrelegatable. They both still might. That's bad news for the other 12. Less seats at the table. All the other clubs voted for their own self interest.
