good points and not a waste of time

The points are not a waste of time but wondering about them are, at least they are to me.  What if I won the lottery?  Now I wouldn't mind finding out, especially the big Euro rollovers. :cheesy:

no,thats why football captivates us,full of what if's,thats why we leave the ground saying," if that shot had gone in" etc,it's why we think "if we bought ******** we'd be so much better"

Robson was originally on a 12-month rolling contract before that became a one-year fixed-term deal in March.

And yet he was still surprised when he found out that would be his last year!

I'm not sure what you're getting at, the change in terms of contract wasn't the problem, announcing it to the press was.

I never think sacking a manager is a good idea unless there is a clear problem but every year it is the same and every manager goes through a bad patch of results. I think we would have ended up in the same position at the end of last season if Souness had stayed. It all goes on form in football teams have a good run followed by bad. It is like West Ham the last few weeks because they had a few good results in a row they where bound to get beat by Sheff U.

no i don't feel worse, this season reminds me of robsons first full season, though robson didn't have all the injuries to contend with.

i think.....where would we be had owen played 20 games ?

i think.....we will get defenders inthe summer.

I thought Robson had loads of injuries, I thought Duncan Ferguson was lying next to Marcelino for most of the first season Robson was at the club.  I seem to remember quite a few without going looking for names.

Dabizas missed around 6 months, Cort about 7 months, Shearer around 3 months, Dyer around the same off the top of my head.

we never went into games with 6 or 7 first teamers out week after week.

had owen only been out 3 months where do you think we'd be.

i see the situations as being similar

You could say the same about Owen under Souness though and where we'd have been had he only missed 3 months.

i do actually wonder  "what if" with souness and all the injuries we had.

Your optimism regarding shit managers knows no bounds. That you can feel the same about this season under Roeder as Robsons first is just staggering.

Where the hell do you get your faith in Glenn from exactly?

Worse now as i'm largely apathetic.

Under Souness I was angry, which was something.

It's like currently i'm resigned to defeat, when before I knew there was a win just around the corner. Metaphorically speaking, of course.

Guest Alan Shearer 9

Another little observation. How many of the players do you see come out to the press saying they're totally behind the manager? With Souness, you'd often get the likes of Given, Taylor, Owen, Luque, Shearer, Parker, Boumsong & Emre saying the players were behind their manager, I've seen nowt like that under Roeder.

This "observation" to me confirms your stupidity. What a plonker

Souness, without a doubt, he turned a club with serious champions league aspirations into relegation candidates.

Where we are now - this is what mid table mediocrity feels like. This is what Spurs fans have been feeling like for decades. Maybe getting into Europe, maybe getting into a relegation scrap but actually going nowhere. I can take a season of this as the price for stopping the rot.

Next season we get Owen back and up front with Martins. We get Shola on the bench instead of Sibierski. We get players who are actually fit rather than constantly in the middle of a comeback from injury. We get Dyer with a pre-season behind him for the first time in god knows how long, and that's before we sign anybody. Hell, we might even get a settled back four, but I'm not betting on it.
