Crumpy Gunt
All been let go apparently. Anyone heard anything? Anyone know someone at the Academy can confirm or deny what I've been told.
Raconteur
WTF?!? Surely not? Didn't we learn this lesson when KK closed down the reserves?
Skirge
Has not had a good reputation though has it? I have heard stories of kids just going back to their boys clubs rather than stay at the academy. still though every top club should have an academy, maybe a revamp instead of closeing it would be best. Aye, that's where I was going - if the Academy is sub-standard, then surely we should improve it rather than give up on it! Beggars belief...

It's not like we're loaded, we could really do with generating some talent for next to nothing.

Guest TheOrder
Not that I'm aware, alot of lads have been released due to reaching the maximum age for the academy, and not being needed for the reserves. They've actually just had an influx of lads in the academy. Strange:s

Guest NIToon
It's supposed to be one of the best academys in the country, certainly one of the most productive when you see some of the academy lads that have made the step up to the first team with great credit this season. Cajun
Carling Academy or some other hilarious punchline to come? I hope its not the Carling Academy!! We must have an academy, even Stevenage has an academy ffs!
stozo
Very much doubt this, especially with Roeder apparently being so committed to the young kids.

Guest
Is it not Premier League regulation that every club must have an Academy? Pretty sure that was one of the things Howard Wilkinson brought in.
Gallowgate Toon
alot of lads do go in for it and dont like it, one of my mates went to the academy said it was rubbish and he went to sunderland academy said it was a bit better but not worth it so he went back to his old club. Sima
I've seen enough of Huntington to know he's no better than Ramage or Taylor, which is very mediocre
Cajun
In the Skysports article on Carroll it claimed we have one of the most productive academys in the country. Not sure about that
