Guest
Well ok. If you were to have 10 two-legged games in May where 1st in England played 1st in Spain, 7th in England played 7th in Spain, 16th in England played 16th in Spain, etc. I reckon Spain would win 13-14 of them. Newcastle Fan
I think teams such as Zaragoza and Athletico Madrid are the teams he means. While Zaragoza is debateable,i think A.Madrid are a class team Real Madrid meanwhile are a team that i think even we can defeat.

Alberto2005
Even Racing could be closing on a uefa place mainly down to Zigic and also their centre half who's got about 8 goals all be it from the penalty spot more often than not.
Guest kingdawson
Yet are still better than the likes of Bolton, Everton, Spurs & Newcastle I'd say. disagree completely tbh
Mr. Snrub
Zaragoza is a very good team. Sitting 4th in La Liga atm. ..and they beat Real Madrid 6-1 last season. mackems.gif
Guest
So how come Blackburn, Spurs & Newcastle didn't get any further than the last 8, and 3 Spanish sides have made the last 4?
Nate
So how come Blackburn, Spurs & Newcastle didn't get any further than the last 8, and 3 Spanish sides have made the last 4? None of those went out to mid-table, Spanish opposition...

Newcastle Fan
So how come Blackburn, Spurs & Newcastle didn't get any further than the last 8, and 3 Spanish sides have made the last 4? Because they are managed by a bunch of cunts The same can go for the champions league, since 3 english teams have reached the semi's then its the strongest league in the world. Players wise, talents wise us and spurs ARE better then the likes of Zaragoza and Espanyol. But they way we play, the way our players preform, the way our cunt of a manager uses the players is whats keeping us from reaching the semi's or the final of the UEFA cup, heck we got knocked out by a Dutch team who has relativly unknown players. Nate
And those Spanish sides haven't went out to anyone. Still, you can't compare teams based on one-off cup ties, nevermind when they're not even against each other.

Great they've performed better this season in the competition, dosent mean there a better team overall. Teams like Depor and Villareal didnt even make the uefa cup. Guest optimistic nit
who the fuck gives a shit whether player for player a mid table prem team is better or worse than a mid table la liga team. Its all going to be speculation, untestable speculation, based on predjudices when the likely answer is that the leagues are pretty equal.

Guest
Well ok. Put Newcastle & Blackburn in La Liga and I don't think they'd have finished anywhere near 6th & 7th.

Nor have the teams you've mentioned, barring Sevilla the highest team you said was Espanyol who are 10th... Osasuna, Deportivo and Villarreal are all below that. Guest kingdawson
ok ill do a quick comparision. This is based on player potential and overall quality of the squad. Top six premiership clubs 1) Chelsea 2) Manchester united 3) Arsenal 4) Liverpool 5) Spurs 6) Newcastle Top six Spanish clubs 1) Barcelona 2) Real Madrid 3) Valencia 4) Sevilla 5) Athletico 6) Zaragoza verdict = Premiership just nick it imo. Premierships Next Batch of clubs 7) Everton 8, West Ham 9) Blackburn 10) Bolton Spain's next baxt batch of clubs 7) Villareal 8, Deportivo 9) Espanyol 10) Racing Santander Verdict= I think Everton will beat any of those Spanish teams on any given day but spain might just nick this one. Yorkie
What an anti-climax it would be if the two finalists were Espanyol and Osasuna. However, i did say YONKS ago that i fancied Espanyol. Go me.
