NSG
It is funny how on the one hand you have: "Yeah we are great fans, took more to Marseille than any other English club" then on the other: "yeah not a lot turn up at home games because the football was s***" Hmmm... Mmmm. South of France. Cheep beer. Couple of days away with the lads. You work it out. Mmmmmmm. 5 minutes from home. Supporting your team. Day out with the lads. Heart and soul of the club. Worked it out.

Guest
Hahaha, cheap beer in Marseille? About €2.50 for a "demi-pression" in my experience of Southern France. (£1.70 for half a pint)

Greg
Wasn't as recent but... and how nice of them to leave a load of empty seats so you feel at home. Really? Fact is we took more supporters to Marseille than ANY of the English teams that they've played inlcuding Newcastle! In fact they had to open another block of seats in the MARSEILLE section (next to the line of stewards) to accommodate the BWFC supporters once the allocated section was full! FACT is you were given a bigger allocation. We took what we could and there were more of our fans in the ground than had tickets no doubt about it. As the picture shows our game with them was a total sell out, they couldn't give us a bigger allocation due to their own fans demand for tickets, but their fans were not arsed about playing your lot so they could give you an extra allocation alongside the cage. Guest firetotheworks
Bolton have less fans than us, its hardly a crime. If their supporters are'nt turning up then mock them. Dont see how you can have a go at the ones who turn up about the ones who dont.

My comment was aimed at Bolton not being as big as an attraction for the fans of Marseille.

Guest Invicta_Toon
That's because Marseille fans actually wanted to come and see the match against us. That's probably because they were more confident of beating you lot! That's it. Spot on. They were shit scared of Bolton. that bodes well for us then eh? seeing as we have their manager

What point are you making exactly? Its well known that Bolton had limited funds in comparison to us. The only big signing Sam was ever able to make was for Anelka, and he was a success. Football is quite a hard concept to poor Vicky though. Obviously Sam failed at Bolton as they never won anything. Same reason why SBR was a poor manager for us, I mean what exactly did he win!? Probably not a good idea to start a reply with the word 'FACT' if you're then going to get your 'facts' completely wrong! Having sold our initial allocation, we were refused any more tickets. It was only because supporters travelled in such numbers without tickets that the French police instructed Marseille to let them into the ground. It wasn't a semi-final, in fact it was the last 32, which probably explains why Marseille didn't sell their allocation. Maybe they just have as many glory-hunters as Newcastle, who turn up for semi-finals but can't be arsed to turn up for any of the earlier rounds. Fair play you took a decent allocation over there I never said you didn't but I was mainly having a go at the fact you never sell out at home and that the Marseille fans didn't see it as a very important game, with ours being a semi final that is actually understandable. As for those lower cup attendances, well we still manage higher attendances when no fucker turns up than your average over a season for PL games and you have already admitted in this thread you have a load of glory fans. Personally, I like to read the posts of fans from other clubs. It's always good to get a neutral's viewpoint/opinion. The good ones talk sense and are honest, the arseholes tend to take cheapshots. Guest trotter58
you have already admitted in this thread you have a load of glory fans. No i haven't. We had almost 20,000 season ticket holders a few season's ago. We've actually improved our league position since then but crowds have been steadily dropping at the Reebok. If we had a load of 'glory hunter' fans, presumably they'd be filling the ground wouldn't they?
