What a find by Hughes.

Cost £400,000 from Hertha Berlin, has only just joined our league but is already fully adapted and better than every singleone of our defenders!

Will the day we make these kind of signings ever come?

Warnock, Samba, McCarthy, Roberts and Nonda ... what is the total cost of these players who have done an excellent job of taking Blackburn forward this year. Probably about half of what we spent last summer.

Surely ... Jesus wept.

That just shows that Mark Hughes has the ability as a manager to spot the good players.

Roeder dont have that ability

He is incompetent on all  paragraphs of the managerial job

Roeder dosn't have any abillty,he can't manage, he can't motivate,he can't discover young talents, he can't put good tactics,he can't even choose a decent  line-up, what the hell is he doing as Newcastle manager,i wouldnt let him manage a sunday league team..

And roeder / Souness brought him in?

Or roeder brought in the Yankee Bramble....  his sole contribution to our defensive woes.  (shit isn't defensive woes a Alan Oliver copywrite)

I didn't know we was pinning it down to just Roeder's reign

Divvent roll your eyes at me - took this to be a comparison to the current managment set up as well as our lack of being able to get a semi decent defence togther.  And one (tempremental) player in four years is a mark of what exactly?

Yes, as soon as we install a competent scouting system to rival our rivals, and stop taking the easy route of buying big names on even bigger salaries just because theyre available and "good".

The club probably didnt even know who Samba is before he came to these shores, or Vidic, or many of the other talented defenders unknown to us because they arent household names in this country. Sir Bobby stated in his autobiography that Shepherd listens to a few people whos footballing knowledge he "trusts" - hence probably the reason for our non existant scouting network - one of them being Stretford and another no doubt being McKay, so any footballers not on the radar of these agents are probably anonymous to us other than the extremely obvious ones that weve all heard of. Benayoun? To be fair to the lad...

Daft way to run the club, and its no wonder that we regularly make shiite signings. Can only hope that Allardyce or someone else can come in and force some degree of competency and efficiency into some departments within the club. Even then, how long before hes undermined by the current lot sitting on their dividends and sunbathing in tropical islands?

There should be many other names that slip through my fingers but in 3 years Mark Hughes is in charge they have spent (according to the foolowing list) 7.75M, ie 2.9M on average every year.

This season is particularly impressive as not only the volume of transfer is significantly larger, the only flop is Andre Ooijer (2M) who is out injured for the majority of the season.

On a side note Stephane Henchoz would be a good candidate for Roeder - free, old and experienced, good. But Roeder didn't do anything, nothing and now he is regretting.
