Rich
It is a shame, because we'll obviously have to look for a less-attractive option now as Sam works down his apparent "list" of targets. Drago seems like he would have been ideal, but there's bound to be someone else out there who could fill the same role. Still leaves us 1/2 players short, if it doesn't go through. Wullie
Hope Sam's got someone else lined up, I reckon he probably has.
Shak
Pity we missed out on Distin, on reflection.
Rocker
Hope Sam's got someone else lined up, I reckon he probably has. As he dropped negeotiations with Draguntinovic when he heard about Enrique, maybe Drag wasn't as high up on the list as we thought.
Guest
It's quite possible we wanted one or the other and had bids for both accepted. He got his first-choice, so now if he signs Drago it's a bonus. Don't think he'll be devastated if he misses out though.
Crumpy Gunt
Probably due to the fact he'll be second choice.
Rich
Drago was obviously a "higher priority", though, than whoever Sam will move onto now - which is what is my small point of concern is - and it means longer to wait for the squad to be "completed" and we'll probably be going for a player who the Gaffer rates less highly. It's just how it goes from the looks of things, Drago was obviously lower on the "list" than Silvestre, Enrique and Heinze, so it's obviously not the be-all/end-all. Would still be handy to have a full international, from a top club, who can play CB/LB incoming. Let's hope there's still life in the deal yet. He could just be trying to weasel more money out of us with these latest quotes... he loves the moolah and he doesn't seem daft. Must have a good agent. Guest sicko2ndbest
Drag was wanted as a left back who could also cover as a centre half so the Enrique deal was the most important as we needed a left back specialist more. The deal has stalled because: 1) He was waiting for a better deal which he has now got 2) He has not heard from Sam in a few days, therefore his comments are a hurry up and get me plea
Wullie
I still think we need someone who can play CB and LB, so does Sam, which is why he's gone for Heinze, Drago and Silvestre. Be surprised if we don't try and find another one.
Guest
Distin would have been perfect.
Quailman
Well its the prospect of the champions league and a new contract if he stays at Seville. We can offer more more (triple his current contract) but no european football... however he really wants to play in the EPL and he is 31yrs old, times running out. Still hard to say whether we can land him... I'd say its 60/40 in our favour at the moment.
buzza
He's just covering his arse with these last quotes in case the deal doesn't go through and he ends up in front of the Seville fans again next season... COME ON SAM...get the last piece in place!!!

Guest
Dragutinovic and a right-back, and I'll be confident of top 6 easily. Got as good as squad as anything outside the top 3 if that comes off. Given, Harper RB, Carr Enrique, Drago Cacapa, Ramage Rozehnal, Taylor Milner, Solano N'Zogbia, Duff Geremi, Barton Butt, Emre Owen, Martins, Luque Smith, Viduka, Ameobi I think every manager outside of the top 5 would die for a squad like that, and that easily has the depth to push higher. Quailman
I agree, the chance will be there... it's going to be no easy task as loads of clubs this coming season will have stronger squads! Geremi, Barton Butt, Emre should it not be Geremi, Butt (DMC) Barton, Emre (AMC)

I'd agree with Nut, I think if we can get 2 more players with enough quality and can do something about our injuries then we'll finish 5th or 6th. That doesn't mean I'll be too upset if we don't but it should be something that we go for, even without 2 more players we're in for better than we've just had. Shak
Can't believe the Sam Allar-dice is still only on 3, given how well he's wheeled and dealed this smmer.

I like the way we seem to be setting up a side full of players who can play anywhere. RB: Carr, Geremi, Solano, Taylor CB: Roz, Taylor, Cacapa, Drago/Other LB: Enrique, Drago, N'Zogbia RM: Geremi, Solano, Milner, Dyer, Smith CM: Butt, Emre, Barton, Smith, Geremi, Dyer, Solano (been suggested) LM: N'Zogbia, Duff, Luque, Enrique CF: Martins, Viduka, Owen, Ameobi, Smith, Carroll, Luque, Dyer I've never known us have this much cover all over the shop. As you we're still a quality RB and that fourth CB short, other than that we look solid.
Lloydie
Might also be that West Ham backing out of the Dyer deal means Sam's budget is nearly up / overspent. I think that'd be a mistake, since it was Ashley who scuppered the deal you'd hope he'd increase the budget accordingly (or take responsibility)

Quailman
I still don't feel comfortable having Ramage in that squad... just don't have faith in the player! We need a RB/CB (Versatility) and maybe another versatile AM/LM (Playmaker)
Baggio
A Right Back and Centre back cover are still needed, gutted this deal seems to have fallen through.
