Guest eyeball_tickler
The anti Shola brigade are getting a bit boring now like, bringing back stats from a few years ago as apposed to his strike rate over the last 2 seasons which has been good, no matter how s*** a footballer you think he is. so what you're saying is ignore his shit stats (of which there are many) and kiss his arse because he was good for 4 months one season? Guest Sniffer
If anything, I'm getting tired of hearing that amoeba had a good game against juventus a hundred years ago. Some of you should actually watch him play over 90 minutes as his contribution is minimal.

Guest Sniffer
OK. Let's run with this. Nobody on this board can have an opinion that differs to a pro because they know more than we do. Presumably you, tron, will never express an opinion on anything either. Right?

Guest Sniffer
Come on Tron. You can't disagree with any decision made by newcastle managers because they know more than you do. That is your argument, right?

Parky
Another 2 or 3 examples today where he just refuses to go into top gear to run after a ball.
Shak
Another 2 or 3 examples today where he just refuses to go into top gear to run after a ball. One shocking one where he was away and just ambled towards it, allowing Faye to come in and win the ball. Had he had his arse in gear for that we could have scored as they looked exposed at the back. Some of you should actually watch him play over 90 minutes as his contribution is minimal. As is Michael Owen's. Because he's tall Ameobi is brought deeper to win the ball, which he isn't very good at. He is really an out and out striker, just like Owen (except not as good at it)

So if he wants to contribute for us he'll need to improve his general play and learn to effect the game in deeper areas.
Dave
Saying Owen's contribution off the ball is minimal is harsh imo. He still controls and passes the ball supremely when not scoring, Shola struggles with both.
Shak
Saying Owen's contribution off the ball is minimal is harsh imo. He still controls and passes the ball supremely when not scoring, Shola struggles with both. Supremely is pushing it a bit, but Owen's off the ball work is definitely underrated. Much of it stems from how simple he keeps things. He knows his strength isn't going to be picking out brilliant passes or running at defenders, so rather than try he'll generally play the simple ball and look to get in the box. It'll be very interesting to see him try and play in a 4-3-3, dunno how he'll fare.
M4
More pathetic fouls today from Shola. When he was on he was the only man up front, and of course every time we finally managed to get the ball out of our danger areas and maybe put a bit of pressure on a Bolton defender Shola was kind enough enough to come to their rescue and give away a blatant free kick. Most annoying of all was when Faye had been lying down injured and just got up to try and get the ball, Ameobi just pushed him over. The man has no brain. His basic movement, control and passing is streets ahead of Ameobi's, simple or otherwise.

M4
Just pisses me off so much. It's not even football, just basic logic Sure Sam put him out just because he wanted the last 15 minutes to be more of a challenge.
