Solano wants Charity Match.

none of the english players would be up for it, unless they were getting some money for themselves.

Didn't the England squad announce a few months ago that they're giving their match-fees to charity anyway?

If they'd had the sense to have an earthquake a couple of months ago, we could've done it in pre-season.

More seriously, I've always fancied a Toon versus Peru/South America XI as a testimonial for Nobby, this could be it unofficially, with a greater cause benefiting.

Would be a good idea. Could also get in some people who've played with Nobby in the past involved as well (E.g. Robert, Big Al etc.) and SJP would be a big enough venue to stage something like this.

lets see if Nobby is around long enough for a testimonial first

He won't be - even if he doesn't leave 'till next Summer, his time in exile would rule him out. This would a gesture of appreciation, an unofficial testimonial and a charitable act towards his countrymen back home.

Strange the only place I've seen this is in the French press.  ???

Solano has been in contact with McClaren about arranging a Peru-England friendly with all the proceeds going to those who've lost people in the Peru earthquake.

seen it here too

Great idea by Nobby,it was a really strong earthquake and I think this is the least Nobby can do to help the victims.Hopefully he will get it though I think he might be very difficult.

In the short term Nobby could contact via what ever means all the players listed on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peru_national_football_team#Current_Squad who play abroad & they could all donate 1 weeks salary or more to the cause.

That Scots fellow who joined Sunderland gave his signing on fee to Aberdeen, if Nobby gets a move I hope he is willing to donate his to the cause. Nobby could also contact Claudio Pizarro & see if he willing to donate his Chelsea signing on fee & his former drinking buddies Bellamy & Dyer if they want to donate there West Ham fee's.
