England vs The Dirty Hun @ Wemberley

Have Gerrard and Carrick played together in a normal 4-4-2 for England? Can't remember.

If not, fuck Lampard off and see if if works better.

Howay man, Carrick was fucking toss, again. We looked miles better with Barry in there and individually he was a massive step-up from MC. I thought Lampard was quality tonight, an' all.

I'd prefer Hargreaves if I'm being honest.

Undoubtedly the first-choice, aye, was just making the point that Carrick should be about 5th in the queue for a CM spot.

A midfield of Beckham (when fully fit), Hargreaves, Gerrard and any one of Downing, Cole or SWP would be a hell of alot better than what we saw tonight

I think he's alright tbh. Anyway, my overall point was that McClaren should have the bottle to drop either Lampard or Gerrard completely, and not shift one to the left or play a fucked up formation. Gerrard vs Lampard? Clear Scouse winner for me.

Are the pundits and commentators afriad to be honest about McClaren? in Ireland the Irish pundits were going mental about Staunton after one of our games, calling for his head and ranting about how shit he is

Yeah, but commentators shouldn't lambast people in football remember.

If credit should be given when its due then surely so should criticism?

Taking the piss mate.

I know you were, i was just adding to my original point.

Stop embarassing yourself.

--------------------- James -----------------

- Richards - Ferdinand - Terry - Cole -

--------- Hargreaves - Barry ------------

----- SWP ----- Gerrard ----- Cole -----

--------------------- Owen -----------------

Is what I would do. Altho Beckham will probably pick himself to play on the right. Lampard can fuck off. Carrick would probably get in ahead of Barry too as he plays for Manchester United and is therefore better. :idiot2:

Taxi...

Gerrard on the right. Rooney in the hole.

Right. Get on the blower to McLaren. We all agree with this formation. So do most the country, I bet.

Hargreaves and Barry as defensive midfielders?

For a team struggling to attack, that is a luxury. Hargreaves alone will do tripple defensive works Carrick does. One defensive midfielder is enough.

If everyone is fit

Ben Foster

Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Ashley Cole

Steven Gerrard, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole

Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen
