L'Equipe: Modibo Maiga fails medical; transfer 'abandoned'
Shearergol replied to a topic in Football
Judging by this entire thread, nobody knows. -
Almost 100% certain we're not signing him. Players "close to a move" do not play for their current team a couple of days before.
-
He is better than Best though, I'll give him that. Mind, so is Billy Sharp. Shame he's out for a while.
-
Would be a canny signing, under 25, would be on lowish wages, hits all the right notes! What's his value anyone know? Around £5m City are looking for Leicester had a £4.5m bid rejected. I would also like to sign him. I live in Bristol so have seen him play a few times. Inferior to Gary Hooper, but costing nearly double? Strange price tag.
-
He's been a permanent sub for the past 3 seasons. No way this is true, like. He's a "prospect". Southampton put a bid in for him last week, nowhere near £7m.
-
Since the 2 goals he scored you mean? [/i realise you're just trying to be funny btw]
-
He'll start for Chelsea when he's available I think. aye I do too, for all of Chelsea's attacking options most of them are on the way down quickly, Drogbas not got much left Anelkas declining rapidly and Malouda's just past it. So why would they sell or loan a player who last season was starting to show his full ability when they need to freshen up the team anyway Erm, what? Based on?

I think Ledley King is quality tbh.

Brilliant. -
I think that's something nearly every fan of every club is saying though. I guess most of them don't have £40m or so in the bank... Well exactly. It's a big chance for us to get a player who is going to be an absolutely top class striker who would completely change the dynamics of our team because he's a constant threat wherever he has the ball. We won't take it of course. Of course we won't. We already know we won't. That won't stop everyone being pissed off when we don't though. Pardew's desperate to lower the expectations of the fans, even though they're as low as they could be.

Cabaye hardly took any did he?
-
Agreed. He also dived after admonishing Gervinho for diving; the fact that he can't see the absurdity in that shows he's not half as clever as he thinks he is. He didn't dive. He feigned injury. Diving would suggest no contact. Yeah he fucking did, lightly touching someones face does not cause them to hit the deck the way he did. If it was someone doing that to one of our place this place would implode. Quick question, where you desperate to see Barton sent off, seeing as you've wanted him out the club for months now?
-
Bramble or Williamson is pretty close tbh.

I'm usually the first on here to defend Ameobi, but he was shocking yesterday. Pointless player.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

So you don't think playing against a team who generally have 60-70% of possession against nearly every team in the league isn't the best opportunity for a midfielder to show their worth? Odd. -

Agree to a certain extent. He will come into his own against weaker sides where we have more possession. It was always going to be difficult against the side where you see very little of the ball BINGO! -
Same could be said about Torres if you're just choosing certain games to base it on. And Drogba. And Rooney. And Tevez.

Newcastle United 0-0 Arsenal - 13/8/11 - post match reaction from p33
Shearergol replied to Beren's topic in Football
We're playing a team who generally have the better of the possession in every single match. We're playing them with no recognised left back and shola ameobi. I'm glad it's a shit match otherwise we'd be four down again. -

Ameobi? -
Hang on, Suarez charged the ball down with his hands. How come nobody has mentioned that? [/not that it matters]
