Very good at Sunderland on loan though. Will do a good job in the first and gets forward well. Decent signing. Wasn't he good because he had Evans alongside him? Pretty certain Evans got the plaudits that season. At least it's a signing. Can't remember how many loans we're allowed at the same time, but I reckon we could end up making half of our team up out of them.

Funny how when we're linked with players from league 1, people assume they won't cut it at this level. When they're about to play against us, they're world beaters. Scored just as many goals IIRC as Beckford in a shitter team in the same league, reckon he's ready for the step up, got a bit of the Dean Ashton's about him when he was at Crewe. He could stall or fade, it's easy done, and for sure he hasn't got limitless potential and is a late developer, but with the right coaching and number of games he's got a good chance of making it; so he's probably made the right choice avoiding us. Beckford got more ;-)

I think he'd be a great signing now. The obvious comparison would be Andy Keogh, as Beckford took over his role for Scunthorpe in league 1 a couple of years ago. Keogh looked quality in the Championship, and Beckford's the better goalscorer. I'd actually approach Wolves and see if they'd sell Keogh now they're in the prem.... Don't know anything about Keogh either Name a striker I'll have heard of he's similar to... Les Ferdinand Nah, the Ian Wright comparison is a good one.
