John Burridge speaks: Kevin Keegan a great guy, but a bad coach
Shearergol replied to a topic in Football
Why have we been labelled as a club who think that if we conceed we'll just score another? Is it simply on the back of the two Liverpool matches? Surely it makes more sense saying that Liverpool are like that rather than us? -
i would spend that amount of money elsewhere... besides, he wouldnt come Beckham would make us a hell of a lot more money than he would cost us.

as he says, souness would say that. But I expect you know best Leazes, from day one of the Luque signing I told people that Souness wanted Boa Morte, and Freddie decided he was over-priced. HE told Souness to buy Luque. That comes from a source NOT involved in NUFC, who has day to day dealings with Fulham. He has no reason whatsoever to lie. This isn't me making the claim now Souness has come out with it, it's on toonchat, or toontastic, and has been from the start. I don't trust Souness with 99% of what he says, but he's absolutely spot on about this situation. Overpriced as in the club didn't have the money at the time / his terms and the fee were too high, or overpriced as in Shepherd didn't rate him personally ? There is a massive difference between those 2 scenarios. I've said it before and I'll say it again. No manager worth his salt is a yes man, they would resign or force a sacking if they want their money, Souness is many things but he's no yes man. And he certainly didn't force a sacking. Quite simply, the idiot is in a complete state of denial about the mess he made of the job and always will be. That comment he made about only being allowed money to tart up the team must be the most stupid ever and nobody in the studio at the time was either bothered enough or knowledgeable enough to challenge him about it. We offered £3.3m. Fulham wanted £5.5m. We pulled out of the deal because Fred had been offered Luque and didn't want to pay £5.5m for Boa Morte. The club clearly had the money, and it never got to the stage of agreeing terms. Didn't Souness once say that he was asked to write down the name of a player he would like more than anyone ? And he wrote down the name "Michael Owen" ? I've heard that, yes. Not sure what that's got to do with the Luque situation though? Souness is a cock. So is Fred. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=48870.155 must have been one hell of a lot of cocks running clubs while watching us - with envy - playing in europe more than every team bar 4 over the course of a decade Sir Alex Ferguson is a cock too btw. I'm not talking about Owen by the way, I'm talking about Luque and Boa Morte, which I know for a fact is 100% true.

Won't Keegan send him one?

It's the future of scouting tbh. Just give someone a laptop and google.

How many of these you actually seen play? Hi Obviously not all of them, but I've seen quite a few. Some of the players I've just heard about through friends, and if I am to believe what they say, these players are good, and will improve us. |maze| Are your friends all characters on football manager?

Foolish, foolish post. In the league alone, Berbatov has scored 8 goals and directly created 10. He's not just a 10 goal a season striker, he's one of the best on earth. Half of those goals came in one game, so he's only scored four in the other twenty or so games (and one of them was a penalty) I dont see what hes done to prove hes one of the best players on earth, his goalscoring record is fairly average and against good teams its appaling - he's scored something like 2 goals against top half teams since he's been here. He's a good Premiership striker, like Anelka...but not top class. It's a shame we're not even able to attract the good Premiership strikers, we have to settle for the average ones.

Yeah that was me. ITK

Keegan wants three players in the window, ready made prem stars

Chimbonda, Van Buyten and Defoe -
At the moment, bringing in "promising" players isn't what we need. I agree that for the long term it's something we should be doing. Why not just buy both of them? Berbatov IS worth £30m, because that's what someone will pay for him. If it stops Man United getting him then it'll be worth every penny.

I think it might be an idea to start getting Owen into the box and then passing to him. Usually works, but we obviously haven't thought of it.

Berbatov, King and Hutton would cost a foooooking fortune.

It'll take £100m to turn this team around.
