Keegan vs Ashley and Co case settled - KK awarded 2m
NJS replied to Taylor Swift's topic in Football
When they leaked the £25m thing last week they already knew that that had effectively been dropped during the hearing - so as far as I can see they are focusing on his initial claim rather than what had already been ruled out. I still see the hearing converation being paraphased as: "£25m - howay Kev you're taking the piss" "Aye, you're right - lets drop that one eh" -

He couldn't have played anywhere else - he had a serious underlying injury which they were aware of - another point in their "favour". -

Good point in the TF piece that "nice" Mr Mort shouldn't be forgotten either. -
Is Dennis Wise a disruptive influence? Or are the fans making him one?

His entire team were incompetent liars worthy of hatred - the fact that one of them was a horrible, despicable little cunt with previous is just a bonus. -

"Kevin, We've got a great player for you - just look him up on YouTube" Blameless? As I've said a few times - if you are given a title of Executive Director (Football) and sit on the board then you cannot get away with "he probably isn't that much to blame" or blaming his appointer - the buck has to stop at his door. -

Don't know if anyone's highlighted it yet but remember how many posters defended Wise saying nobody knew what he did and there was no proof he did anything wrong? Any chance of a "sorry I was unbelievbly wrong" from any of them? -
Don't fucking speak for me - you've picked up on one possible negative angle whereas 359 of the others prove Keegan right and your "I don't really support him" bum chum wrong.
-
What the fuck did the fans have to do with lying (proven) incompetent (obvious) bastards getting the club relegated?
-
Has anyone said that Keegan is/was a better manager than those or the best manager ever in the universe? The point is he did wonders with Newcastle and was piss unlucky not to go all the way - to abuse a man for that and call him a loser is fucking pathetic.
-
If its all about winning why don't we all support Man U or Liverpool? Why do millions support "no-hopers" in thousands of leagues? I don't mean that Newcastle fans shouldn't aspire to win but if you're going to use the "second is nowhere" argument to denigrate Keegan, I just can't think of you as Newcastle fans.
-
Singing at football matches is about a shared experience and a common will of togetherness - nobody probably expected him to say "Aye, right, I'll sell it for a pound" but maybe fans who travel to Ipswich have more right to express a "feeling" than those who don't.
-
To add to your car thing Indi, if Ashley does not sell then don't forget he has to meet the MOT, tax etc for the coming year (and expectations to invest in the squad in Jan - I know, I know) so like that person with the old jag he may have to decide that it's worth taking a hit on the price to wash his hands of it.
-
They could of course sell the remaining rubbish brought in by the wonderful structure to meet the cost in an outpouring of irony. (Of course the resale value illustrates the success of said system).
-
Bassong who has never really spoken and has no reason to lie or Llambias who is a pathological bullshitter? - hmmm.... Fair enough - just saying I always thought it was a Xisco/Gonzalez combo that upset Keegan.
-
Considering the managers we've had during Xisco's time I'm not sure I'd trust any of their judgments (except perhaps Keegan but to be fair, Xisco was one of the rumored transfers that went above Keegan's head so he was probably being quite spiteful). Not according to Xisco himself. You keep banging on about this as the article said at the time he was presented to Keegan & KK told him his plans. I would imagine KK talked to all the incoming 1st team players joining club. I reckon Pellegrini at Real Madrid talks to players when they are joining Real Madrid but it is pretty much nailed on he didnt pick those signings. you'd think if he didn't want them he wouldn't talk them into coming. He'd already signed when he met Keegan. So the summary is that the players actually signed by Keegan (Bassong and Guthrie) turned out to be either excellent and sold at huge profit or a decent squad player and all the players signed by Vetere/Jiminez/Wise turned out to be fucking shit time wasters who want to get away as quickly as possible. Who'd have thought.
-
Face facts though - without a sale its Hughton and I honestly can't see a buyer not appointing Shearer - I think we have to just make the best of that.
-
I think those who have used the "needs experience at a lower level" argument in the past (including to an extent myself) should realise that here and now is the perfect chance for that - we are doing okay in what looks like an "easy" league so what better time to get him in?
-
The thing is we were among the shittest of what I think was a shit league last year and now the same shit players (minus the only good ones we had) look a lot better than the other teams in the league - which must therefore be shit. No wonder so many promoted teams have struggled - I used to think the "gulf" was a myth but not any more.

I think they do, as I talked to a mackem when canceling mine a year ago, saying they had no more NUFC games left or something. He made some jibe I believe. The lass I spoke to was a Mackem - though she was professional enough to accept my reason for cancelling without argument and with only the merest of smirk in her voice. -
.COM used to have the fee paid by Ginsters a few years ago when the fuss kicked off - I'd assume they now take it out their general ad income.
-
It took the Mackems about a month I think - don't know if Murray had put the books in order first though.
-
I wouldn't put it beyond Shepherd to say "I'll give you £75m now without looking at the books or you can wait till we see them when we might give you more".

I rang them yesterday to cancel and they told me I'd have to pay a final DD on the 25th of this month. I told them I wan't paying for 7 weeks service which I had no intention of using and would cancel the DD. I was told if I did that they would keep phoning me to get me to pay. I told them I never pick up phone calls and hopefully they would be bust by the end of the month anyway. -
I Remember a game at Villa in 1986 when we won 2-1 and Gazza ran the game. There were 12000 at the game which means allowing for us there were less than 10000 Villa fans for a first division game in the second biggest city in the country which only has two teams. Since that day I have had nothing but contempt for Aston Villa.
