We've scored more goals - a win and a draw or less for them means we're above them.

Should we add the FSA/BofE/Fed for allowing the credit crunch which prevented any sale? We were relegated when the twat decided to "move the club forward" which meant that the January window became a farce. How anyone else can get a look in in the blame stakes is absolutely incredible.

Give over man. Compare the punishment for one punch with what the Mackems who ran on the pitch got and especially the one who threatened Given. The whole concept of banning orders is immoral for me - you should be punished for a crime as anyone else but when that punishement is over - either a fine paid or a sentence served then restricting peoples lives for a period afterwards is wrong. If they had tried shit like this with other groups in society other than football fans there would have been hell on.
-
He was/is despised by the club and I would guess he has a black mark against him from the coppers from stuff like refusing to have his buses join the escort for the Mackem game. He didn't stand a chance - I'd guess if someone had punched him they would have just got the fine.
-
IMO Fans would be okay - coppers would nick you.

I heard Ameobi's new contract is actually on less wages and wouldn't count him as highly paid. (Though still criminal on every level).

Maybe Paraguay, Chile and the rest aren't as good as Premier league opposition?

Viana/Luque rewind - where are they now?
-
Just a word for the Butt haters - the last 20 minutes were a complete waste of time because we couldn't get the ball - guess why?

I would love to have seen Pat Heard, John Trewick, Wayne Fererday and Ian Stewart in the same team - would have ruled the world.

There was a twat in the 70s who ran the FA called Ted Croker - I remember him being quoted as saying "It's the FA's final not the two clubs'". My Dad got a ticket in 52 via his football club (raffled) but I'll bet this is also the source of the touts tickets - I noticed how in 98 and 99 most of the stand to our left opposite the royal box was "red" - I assumed Man U and Arsenal fans knew how to play the game. The new Wembley also has a ridiculous corporate blight.
-
Paul Ferris for me - I think he held the record for youngest before Watson broket it - he made his debut in May 81 I think and was definitely 16 - I turned 17 in March that year.

" A cannit eat" - fucking good was my first thought.

When Souness was sacked I suggested to a mate that bringing in Shearer with an experienced bloke might work - I suggested Peter Taylor at the time but Dowie makes as much sense now.

Depends on whether the story was true, doesn't it? They admitted he'd had a chest infection so the story was notionally true. Also the irony of mentioning "truth" in relation to Ashley is staggering.

The most telling part of the Llambias interview was when he was asked about the meeting between Ashley and Keegan and why Ashley wouldn't get rid of Wise. His reply was "that was never going to happen". In other words Ashley put his friendship with Wise and/or his faith in the DOF system before the good of the club and that's why he deserves all the blame imo. Another point I've made before is that when you have someone who sits on the board with the title "Executive Director (Football)" then that person also has to take responsibility for the football results of the company in the same way Llambias is responsible for the business results. What the man does or doesn't do is actually immaterial - his job title defines his ultimate responsibility.
-
Yeah a team who've only won 6 games and shown a lack of fight all season are suddenly going to win 5 out of 9 when the shit hits the fan - delusional.
-
Any bloke without injuries who reports someone for punching him deserves a good kicking and prosecution for wasting police time.

A Man U/Liverpool or Chelsea final would see them get their comeuppance.

I'm resigned to the fact that this is the standard of players we'll have to get used to in the brave new world - local trier/extremely average at best. What joy.

They hammered us in the ZDS cup in about 87 but that was at Goodison.

NUSC write up of Llambias attendance at the Supporters Panel meeting

True but i dont think deferring the payments would free up any more cash for transfers than exists already. If we had spent more (which we should have done) then it would have been because Ashley loaned the club more money. On the basis of the reasoning above, he would have not deferred the payment of the loan to the club, he would have done it the same way as the Nolan money. Someone like M'Bia might have helped us get more points from Everton and Bolton so am in agreement that he should have spent more money. They should work like banks imo - if you know you have £6m being paid on July 1st then you position yourself to be paying out that amount on that date - that means deferring payments to other clubs. I can't see how going against the market helps. -

You may be right on the financial reasoning Chez but the fact is the strategy is harming the football side of the club (as Ashley won't spend money till it arrives) - and to many fans that's indictative of the approach - business before football at all costs. -

The Journal and Chron write-ups are just as "biased" as the NUSC bloke's - pro club and Lllambias with a token bit about his apology - they befit their new role as Llambias' lickspittels. They dare not raise the "concerns" Ryder refers to for fear of being cut off again - cowards. -
I think its about responsiblity - if Wise had the title of "executive director (football)" and reports to the board then the football results have to come down to him - not Keegan or Kinnear - that's what those job definitions are all about in the "real" world. I don't see how in that context his position is tenable - especially if we are relegated.
