Cheating being so ingrained that even when you're 20 seconds away from winning a quarter final of the world cup, you still demand that an opposing player be sent off for what is obviously an accidental boot in someone's face.
-
Because as they were Italians they knew they'd turn and run. I hate scousers but Heysel shouldn't have got within a million miles of having a safety certificate - it was crumbling (which incidentally answers your question about the rocks).
-
The reason I don't accept his explanation is that as a sad fact of history, I can't imagine NF agitators in Newcastle who weren't football fans - the two tended to overlap from the NF side.
-
So they helped them out by adding a £1m "fine" if anything went wrong? Fucking twats.
-
It stinks of Redknapp.
-
This is the third promotion I've seen - of the previous two one with a title and one as third and the trophy made no difference whatsoever to me - it's a minor trinket in the scheme of things. Even if we do win it, it doesn't make up for the crass stupidity of relegation or the zero hope for the future.
-
If you don't care about Ashley, you can't care about the club - there is no worthwhile future if he stays.

I just find that one a bit bad because imo I think it's obviously a Mackem one - they started singing it after we had hammered them (in 1980) so it makes sense from there pov - I think singing it is nearly as bad as if we had a version of Wise Men Say. I think there are better anti-mackem songs - my favourite is the one to the tune of "those were the days" as I think you can get a lot of venom into the word "hate".
-
Didn't toon fans go into the Roker end then though? etc. Plus it was the days of hooliganism, so I don't see how we wouldn't fight. The NYD games were both at home. Its the emphasis on "fight because of NYD" that makes it bollocks.
-
It's never made sense to me which is why I've never sung it - why should we fight because of New Year's day when he hammered the bastards twice? It's a mackem song ill-advisedly stolen imo.
-
I enjoyed it but maybe thought it was a bit too brief - although I suppose if they'd had say 5 anecdotes for every game I'd guess it would have dragged so maybe I'm talking bollocks. I loved the "We were sitting in the pub pissed on the Friday night and decided to drive to Swansea" attitude of those days. I'd also say the court clippings show that imo a £100 fine for somebody being pissed and doing something daft is a lot fairer than the extensive use of banning orders. I'm sure they'll argue the latter are only used for serious idiots (they aren't) but my view was always that it shouldn't be too hard to catch the real idiots "properly" instead of the laziness of guilt with no proof.

Before you get too carried away, the Mackems took the same the last time they were there.
-
how is that possible? He once apologised for being abysmal - that's all that counts.
-
Said this before but allow the ref to award a dive which then allows the non-fouler to kick the cheat as hard as he likes up the arse.
-
Allardyce should at least be there just to make up the numbers but Ashley should still get 100%

Replace "noo" with a shortenend "ny" for the correct version and you might have it.

I always ask what Rotherham have to do with it - they were the first. Particularly annoying is its use when another United are playing them and the commentator blithely refers to the cunts. My ex-boss was an Irish Liverpool fan and it took me about 5 years of working with him but I did teach him to change the habit of a lifetime and start referring to them as Man United - I didn't get him to go as far as I do and refer to them as the Manc Cunts though. I'd also like to add that there are too many recent fans who don't harbour a deep enough hatred for both them and Liverpool with all this shit about people hating Chelsea and Spurs more really pisses me off - you must have short memories or don't appreciate where Man Utd and Liverpool stand in the scheme of things.

I remember getting the midnight train for London games which used to arrive at about 6am. Then we'd go drinking in either Vauxhall (gay bar which used to have some horrific sights at that time in the morning) or Spitalfields Market near Liverpool Street. Ironically I now drink regularly in one of the bars in Spitalfields (The Gun) that we used to go to all those years ago. Those trips also used to frequently end up with missing the kick-off so explaining to your Mam that you'd left the house at 5pm on the Friday and still missed some of the game was always a chore.
-
The modern habit of squealing like a lass in order to convince the ref that a challenge was bad. Refs should have the power to allow the cheated player to kick the cheat as hard as they like - a true "free kick".
-
If you actually woke up to what kind of people they are then you wouldn't be surprised by anything they do.
-
I've seen good players in shit teams (eg Waddle and Beardsley) - Guttierez isn't another one.

How would you feel if he flogged the name Newcastle United Football Club ? (I am assuming that he could, if he so wished) that would be totally different as the name is mentioned whenever the club is discussed in any way. the strip and ground name are seperate to that. But that's exactly like it will be which is the point Robster and I are making - think how many times SSN refer to The Emirates or The Reebok when discussing anything to do with those clubs - even when they aren't playing at the time. Compare that with an average report on Liverpool or Spurs - are there Sponsors mentioned?
-
Our current status aside, I don't really care about our image outside the UK. We are a million miles away from "mattering" if the truth be told.
-
If you were going for a reach argument then you can't argue against the fact that the two biggest Global clubs in the UK (and adding Real Madrid and Barca) Europe, have never even mentioned doing this - and thats with owners in the case of Man U and Liverpool who would consider it standard. Arsenal imo are a special case because they didn't have the money to build the stadium otherwise (this may apply yet to Liverpool), the other teams who've done it fall into a category which is best summed up as cheap. Our owner may be that but I don't see why the club should be.

meanwhile think of how many pics of NUFC in action are shown round the world compared to how many SJP is mentioned.. which has more cache....our strip or ground name ? How many Asians (for example) know who or what Northern Rock is? The worldwide argument I think is minor anyway (especially for us) , its the constant referrals in this country which would irritate.
