Blackburn showed what happens when you keep blind faith in a shit manager last season and we will go the same way if we don't act now. We show no sign of improving and we've just lost at home to the worst team in the league despite having an almost full strength team. Doesn't get worse than that.

Sack now or we WILL go down, simple as that.
  3. There's going to be some disappointed folk in here tonight - come home from work, check forum - 5 new pages in transfer rumours thread and 3 new in Haidara thread "something must be happening!". Nope, just us lot talking shite!
  4. Exactly, and at no stage has he taken any of the blame, which really worries me. If he can't see what's wrong in what he's doing, as well as the players and the need for new blood then we really are fecked. This is my biggest concern - if he doesn't accept that his tactics, set piece routines, team selections etc. are even partly responsible for our league position (which he clearly doesn't) then we're in big trouble. Even with our injury problems we've usually put out teams that should at least be giving the opposition a decent run for their money but we've looked clueless, gutless and have been rolled over convincingly time after time. Pardew's demeanor and comments seem to suggest that he intends for us to carry on using the same tactics but that we need 2 new first team players to make it work? If we stay up this season it'll be in spite of Pardew, not because of him. TWAT!

As long as those players are a shit hot striker and a big mean-as-fuck CB i'm fine with that. Any less and we're screwed!
  6. Surely we'll be sniffing around this - 26 years old, striker/winger, pacy, can finish with both feet and he seems to be available at a decent price. I don't know much about the guy but he sounds spot on!
  7. Pardew said that 3-4 deals were hotting up so either he's lying or we're working on things behind the scenes.
  8. It makes sense. Young (i.e. potential resale value), winger/striker, and French. We could almost certainly get Maiga or Graham for less than that so I seriously doubt they'd spunk any money on a toilet like N'Gog, let alone £5m. This lot are after value for money remember, not universal ridicule
  9. Ha ha, you and me both. In fact i'm so bored I'm actually considering doing some work

Matt Philips maybe? I was hoping that, really rate him. Yeah, i like him a lot. The hype around him seems to have died off since Thomas Ince started ripping it up but he's always looked dangerous whenever i've seen him - goals, assists, pace (basically everything we lack when Hatem isn't playing)

    Matt Philips maybe?
  12. The vast majority of players would rather play for Barcelona or Real Madrid. Doesn't mean it's going to happen. Roma might not even make an offer for him

    Loïc Remy

As a few on here have already said, i'm not that bothered about missing out on Remy because I don't know that much about him. What makes me anxious is that we've spent the best part of two weeks working on the transfer and we might now end up with no striker to replace Ba. Seems like there are some other decent options out there but i don't have a lot of confidence in the chuckle brothers to get one of them over the line.

    Loïc Remy

All players are mercenaries these days so we shouldn't be surprised but this is fucking ridiculous!
  15. He's also 6'2" so he'd hopefully give us a bit more aerial threat

    Loïc Remy

'j'aime le fromage. He hon, he hon, he hon!'
  17. Obviously we need the policy to be flexible so that we can sign Ba's replacement because we can't make do with Cisse, Shola and no fucker else. However, beyond that I'd be happy for us to sign a relatively young, talented CB to replace Williamson rather than another purple, similar to when we signed Bassong. He was originally bought as backup but turned out to be shit hot. If our scouting network is that good why haven't we unearthed another Bassong or two? There must be plenty of them out there.

Worse than that, we haven't scored a goal from a set piece for 2 years. You'd think he might start working on it a bit f***ing harder 15 months from a corner. Apologies.

It all comes back to lack of footballing knowledge/experience at Boardroom level. Having an unscrupulous businessman at the helm has benefited us in some ways but when it comes down to selecting managers, deciding when to fire/hire someone and judging when to break our policies for the good of the club, we need someone who has been involved in the game. Whether or not there's anyone out there that Ashley and Dekka would trust enough to put in an advisory position, fuck knows. If we sack Pardew now i've no doubt we'll end up with someone seriously underwhelming to replace him. If we had this adviser in place he could be out scouting possible replacements right now, which would give us a better chance of ending up with someone decent.
