He's worth the opportunity because at our lowest ebb last season, he looked like the only player in the back line that gave a f***. That's worth a few games with the arm band at the very least.

If you look at it, regardless of whether they were first choice or not, all bar two summer signings have come from 'top tier clubs'. That says a lot not only about our mentality but about Rafa's pulling power. He's the figurehead that we have been crying out for and everyone - club staff, players, targets and fans - are all being won over by him. We could be on our way to something special here.
