Lol, it always makes me laugh when fans from teams in the midlands try to give excuses for a piss poor following by complaining about the hardships of travelling to Newcastle for a midweek fixture. They are so mollycoddled as fans with about 90% of away games all within a 100 mile radius. It is fuck all and they should be packing out away ends everywhere The North West teams are the same but to a lesser degree. Newcastle/Sunderland/Middlesborough/Pompey have it the hardest imo and in that order.

I would advise a bit of caution. For the most part our CL attendances back in the day were lower than Liverpools last night. Ticket prices were the main factor in that imo.

I know Celtic fake their attendances for league games. They always quote a virtual sell out despite there being as many as 10,000 less than the actual figure quoted. Does the Rangers fans head in.

I was also probably annoying people around me last night from about 55 mins to the final whistle I was crying out about once a minute: "Kinnear man for f***s sake get some subs on man!!!"
