    Can we?

The old, 'what can I change line'? On your own you can probably change fuck all but if others who share your opinion join or you can influence others through coherent, logical arguments then you might have a chance. If you don't try you'll never know.

    RIP sale thread.

And how exactly would they do that? I've seen some stupid posts in my time and you can rest assured that your's is up there with the most idiotic of them. The Post was born out of sheer frustration that someone can lie his way through owning a club, making fans up front for 3 years while the dream he sold was all a lie. Fair enough, in future just try not to post every idiotic thought rattling about inside your head.

    Can we?

Ask it at a home game? Give everyone in the crowd a white card for yes and a black card for no and they could raise these in response to a series of questions? Aye, cracking idea. You could try going to meetings or joining their forum.

Is it your time of the month ? if your not "on" yet hurry the fk up and bleed. I'll not be the one bleeding if I ever bump into you. [/internet hardman]

What exactly do you want them to do? Contact you personally? The represent their members, not every Newcastle fan.
  7. Keegan proved just over a year ago he had the skills a manager needs in this day and age. See the 4-3-3 for example. Obviously he's a s**** tactician though. its absolute s*** to say a manager from the 90s is out of place nowadays,...nobody has an answer to Fergusson and wenger....both older than keegan,.. and then theres SBR was still managing when he was 15 years older than keegan is now. Wenger is a bad example, tactically I don't think he's owt special at all It's amazing how people can talk like this, I mean doesn't it smack a bit of arrogance? Here we are in the Championship with Hughton in charge waiting to see if there is going to be a Xmas sale on players and we have fans picking faults with Wenger as a manager Just in case anyone's unaware of this, Gus Hiddink isn't waiting by the phone in case we ring... What about Hitzfeld?

Well that's where a larger membership would certainly help, it would hopefully see people up for election with different opinions and a diverse range of views represented on the committee. The Labour party don't even represent the views of everyone in the party but the aim is to represent the majority view and that's just the nature of these groups. I'm not asking everyone to agree with NUST but if they feel that strongly about what they're saying then the most obvious choice to me is to influence them from inside rather than simply slating them on a forum.

    Can we?

I'm not demanding that everyone join it or that it is above criticism. I'm asking how can it be representative of his views if he makes no effort to let NUST know what his views are? As Iceman said, it's much easier to snipe from the sidelines.

£20m is more than romantic bullshit (provided the businesses involved follow through with it). i hate to point out, but thats £80 million short, would like to see how they would manage that. never gunna happen. I'm not 100% sure of their plans but I'd imagine they would be looking to go in as part of a consortium rather than buy the club outright under the NUST banner.
  13. Bassong? another thing i'd hope to have been cleared up by the tribunal. as far as i'm aware both ends of the argument are still claiming credit for him. Bassong himself has stated that it was Keegan who identified him and brought him to Newcastle.
  14. So why give him a contract stating that he would have the normal duties of a PL manager? BTW, what age are you? tbf there was also that passage about fitness, motivation, tactics and selection. (admittedly "selection" is open to interpritation). why add that in if "normal duties as a manager" already had it covered. it seems like a very clumsy contract from both sides. From Keegan's point of view, if his understanding was that he would be fully in charge of transfers then he most likely didn't think it was necessary. However, if the club was clear that they wanted a DoF to take charge of transfers then it would have been blindingly obvious to include it in the contract as it deviates from the normal duties of a PL manager. The absence of such a term lends credence to Keegan's claim.
  15. Have you even read the tribunal's findings? It states exactly what was in Keegan's contract. And while Keegan knew that a DoF was to be appointed, even the club's employees did not know that the DoF would have the final say on transfers. Time to take your head out of the sand.

Why not exactly? A fan-elected non-executive board member would be a great idea imo.

  19. Can't stand the fat b******, but he makes some good points, especially about the £millions His entire article is based on the assumption that this bloke has bought Portsmouth as something to waste his money on, like Abramovich and the Man City lot, which is a hell of an assumption to make. Has this Fahim bloke ever even claimed that's why he's bought the club? Apart from banging on spending £50 million He never said he'd spend £50m, he said he'd inject £50m into the club, about £40m of this would go to paying off debts.
  20. How would January have been any better? Keegan leaving in September gave his replacement four months to come in and assess the squad before the transfer window opened.
  21. There's a lot more to it than simply not wanting Nacho. yes, but we don't know the full facts my thing is this, is it worse to have a player bought for you or sold behind your back If you just sanctioned the sale of Milner for £12m would you not be a bit pissed off that his replacement was some no-mark loan?
  22. No mananger could work with that setup. None. Even JFK wasn't working under the same constraints.
  23. There's a lot more to it than simply not wanting Nacho.
  24. When would have been a more convenient time? You can't have expected him to stay to the end of the season? Ashley had plenty of time to get a suitable replacement in and ensure the first team didn't go to shit. Instead he fucked about for most of the season and never adequately replaced him, that's Ashley's fault, not Keegan's.
  25. The question is, how many other managers could have taken us from where we were to challenging for the PL and would have taken the job? I can't think of too many. Some people are saying that Keegan was a failure, well, in comparison to who? Apart from our time under Keegan and SBR we've been pretty shite for the past 30 years. Yes, Keegan didn't deliver the league but he came closer than anyone else did for a long, long time.
