  1. To be fair to Hughton, he got most of his subs this season spot on. Yes, sometimes they were too late to make an impact, but as I said most of the time he got them right. He has rarely made a decision dependent on how the game is shaping, he has done it to time. For example, we were defending a 1-0 lead somewhere this season with 5 minutes to go, and he put a third striker on the pitch - I mean wtf?! It was Sheffield United away wasn't it where he brought on Ranger for Simpson and Harewood late on to hold onto a 1-0 lead. I can see where you're coming from with that! But it has worked against them, hasn't it? I think considering that on our bench were: Krul, Guthrie, Geremi, Tozer and Donaldson, who would you have picked to defend? I think to pick a striker for defence isn't the worst idea as in that case, Harewood and Ranger both are physicaly stronger than for example Guthrie and in Harewoods case also more experienced than anyone on the bench besides Geremi. And if I remember correctly they both did well at defending set pieces. Agreed. Ranger did well defending set pieces along with Carroll but if I remember correctly Harewood was shifted out wide right and all he seemed to do was nothing FYP.
  2. 'Your grounds too big for you' 'Here there everyfuckingwhere empty seats' 'Geordie boot boys' and the truly appalling 'your support is f***ing s***' rang out over and over again yesterday to earn us absolutely no respect or admiration from our hosts in sheffield which is truly a shame as the turn out was impressive in numbers and colourful with all the hilarious fancy dress etc. If only the mood could be as humorous to match it would make the day so much better. They probably didnt even notice it, tbh. They were far more interested in fighting between themselves, must have been about 4 scuffles which ended in afew people getting chucked out in the stand on the touchline to the left! The young toon lads that got in that stand caused a right carry on aswel and ended up with about 20 stewards and police men around them! Highlight of the match was watching some steward pushing a police man then going mental at some other stewards during the 2nd half, yes, the 2nd half was that bad!! think they were taken out for their own safety rather than carrying on themselves. Yes they were waving at us lot in the West Stand, but it began to look obvious that if we scored, they'd go mental and the home fans would snap and go for them. Were they brought into our end or were they just chucked out? I thought they were Wednesday fans at first coming down to have a shout! Sure they got kicked out, didnt see them after in our end.

  4. Amen, but then again, whats new from the useless turd? The poor performance is new. Not really.

  6. Aye. Were you with an old kinda man with a blue adidas jacket on right near the wednesday fans? Nope. Ok, the Wednesday lot are a strange lot, kicking off between themselves about 3 or 4 times! The toon fans that managed to get in the wednesday end was quite amusing too!

  8. Same as we have done with Pancrate? Just because he has been released by his club, doesnt automatically mean he is s**** you know. I didn't say he was shite, but he's well known for having a bad injury record. He's currently out with a ruptured achilies tendon which he had to have surgery on. I bet he would require some sort of signing on fee, as he won't just move up here without some form of financial gurantee. Shirley, if we were going to sign him, we would offer a very low wage P/W and then offer bonuses on a pay as you play basis. Then again, deals like that, are too complex for us..................

  10. Better than Platini dont you know.
  11. Aye, your right, why do we need a striker that can score goals? But can he throw glasses? He will have on the job training from big AC and Barton to get him upto standard.

  13. Radio 1 newsbeat reckoned that Pulis was about to headbut him!
  14. Why's that then? Faking injurys so he could get his move to Citeh, whilst still saying he loves NUFC, no doubt he was a quality player for us and he was loved by us here but the way he went about getting his move has rattled alot of cages.
  15. After the Ipswich game we went on abit of a slump, not winning in 4 games. Could easily happen again if the lads are over confident and just turn up and expect to thump Watford.
  16. This. Think we will scrape a 1-0 win though a dodgy decision.
  17. Record Premiership attendance to boot ?
  18. Chester City Vs Eastbourne Borough abandoned because of protesters on the pitch!
  19. Just on the way back now, did anything happen as the players were going off at half time, looked like Carroll was involved from where I was stood?
