We have signed two chaps to play CB, given Taylor a new deal & we have Cacapa & Edgar to cover them 3. I also cant see Keegan putting him midfield. I like Faye I just think he is maybe one of them that will move on as there is nowhere for him to go & he will want to be a starter. He is also a player other clubs will bid for. Rozehnal, Ramage and Diatta have all gone though. None of them were that much part of the team during KK's return to club. Like I said I cant see where he is going to go & he is player who others maybe want. I like the fella & I would play him before Butt or Taylor but I don't think KK is going to. That's fair comment but they were on the books and could have been used if the need had arisen. Not suggesting Bassong will play a major part this year but he'll be available if need be. There's also the young kids - Tozer and Kadar who might get a few appearances on the bench this year too. Just can't see Faye going unless a big bid comes in for him. We'll see though.

What pissed me off about him was the amount of time he spent talking to players about nothing challenges, I can't remember seeing one tackle which wasn't a reasonable attempt to get the ball. The bloke just loves to be the centre of attention and will go out of his way to create a situation which means everyone is looking at him - just like you described. A nothing tackle goes in and he stops play and calls the player over when most refs would have a quiet word as play continued.

If the incentive method does not work, why not try the stick method. Besides, the team should know who the fans are booing at (it's not hard to know). The booing was out of order like. Understandable given some of his 'performances' but booing him before he's kicked a ball? Bad craic. I think he's been very poor for us and I'd accept any reasonable bid for him but even so...

Was pleased with the game and it's heartening to see us trying to play good football. Can't remember Given making too many saves but they looked a really good team despite having a shit season last time out. We're not far away from being a good team and we've still got Enrique, Owen, Faye, Coloccini and Viduka to come back into the squad. Like the look of Guthrie and Gutierrez but a quality striker and a midfielder would make a shitload of difference. Reminded that we're actually pretty good and we're only going to get better. Fancy us to have a decent season.
