Can we agree that 'if a referee is unsure about whether or not to give a penalty, he should be able to ask for replays to decide BEFORE he gives his decision'? Pretty please?

So you only refer it to video after the ref on the field has already decided it's a pen.? You'd have anarchy man!! how? doesn't happen in any other sport. As said above, you can have the ref have the final say if he's overuled. Ref's make mistakes, who's honestly going to disagree with that? I thought if the refs/umps weren't sure about a decision, they asked for tv help before they gave the decision. Not the other way around. What happens if it happens 3 or 4 times in a match? Ref gives 3 pens initially but it is then proved, via replay, he was wrong for each one!! There would be a riot! alright, well you could change it so that each time the ref thinks he has seen a pen, he reviews the tape if there was a ref awarding 3 incorrect penalties a match, I agree there would be a riot Sense at last!!

Wouldn't have been a video replay decision anyway. You'd have to stop the game for everything in that case. no, only for penalties and red cards What, not for the ball crossing/not crossing the line? You can't stop the game and go to a fourth official everytime someone goes down in the box or appeals for holding on a corner. I'm for video replays for incidents where it's not clear if the ball is in or not, but anything else would be impractical. not penalty appeals but penalty decisions. and of course crossing the line Eh? If one team appeals, the ref needs to make a decision... yes, and you look at the video if the ref rules it is a pen no point looking at appeals, the appeals would just get more and more frequent Struggling here...If there's no appeal, there's no decision for the ref to make.
