reminds me of the old days. Give the manager no chance, then call for his head. One or two people will remember those days with great affection, before they were "embarrassed". you're right ne5. they should've gave dalglish longer but didn't............do you think fred should have gave souness and roeder(i know he resigned) longer. ?

wasn't so long ago everyone wanted to know everything that was going on....now he tells and it's wrong. Well..telling IF they are going to buy players or loan players or sell players is one thing..but to acctually say which players we have bid for, and how much is just stupid. Every other interested club could just make a 4,1 mill bid for Mbia now..Or his club could demand 5 million, because they know we have 10 available.. pretty sure the agent would let that known to all interested parties anyway Sure he would, but there is no point in telling the world when nothing is certain. Just another dissapointment for the fans. And it could create interest from clubs that not already are interested. And everyone knows that in negotiations, one of the most stupid things you could do is to tell the other party how much you have to spend overall. maybe but it seems like in todays game everyone knows what cards everyone else is holding....then the player takes his pick -

wasn't so long ago everyone wanted to know everything that was going on....now he tells and it's wrong. Nobody was unhappy about the unexpected unveiling of signings in the summer. There's a huge difference between keeping transfer targets quiet and not telling us anything about the future of the club's very existence. back check the threads around that time. people were doing there ends on here about no news, gossip from the club about signings, intrest etc -
Totally agree. It is the worst I have known and I go way back to the second division days. It's like the clubs been hijacked by a bunch of people who do not give a f*ck about the club or fans. They have no understanding of the this club, it's history and it's fans. Why would they? A fat cockney t*at who could not give a s*** about the club. The guy is clueless. As soon as I saw him posing as a fan with his top on i just thought this fat tw*t is going to be trouble. Shepherd made mistakes but I think he cared about the club and at least had a plan. He communicated with the fans. This bloke and his cronies never speak, never say what the vision is for the club. Why should a player like Shay Given stay at this club in it's present state. He owes us nothing. He should get him self to decent club where he might win something. We are a massive club with great fans being run by a bunch of cockneys who do not give a f*ck about the club. It is the complete ineptitude and ignorance of the fat b**tard running this club that scares me. Trust us to get the clown taking us over. Thanks for your view, but I disagree with pretty much everything you just typed. Thats just my view! he's made the best post in the last few hours by a country mile. It must be pretty difficult for people like you trying to understand why we aren't in our rightful place chasing european qualification as a minimum, but if you can work it out I'd be interested in your comments. you taking the piss ?...."rightful place" etc you've had a hard day haven't you nope. i've had the day off. just annoyed at the idea that you'd think challenging for europe was our "rightful place" (basically what fans of other clubs slag us off for) and not exactly where your hero left us . was it ?

The only thing that is important is that the squad is improved, if the squd is visibly improved by the end of this window i would be more happier if we'd spent £5k then i would if we'd spent £15m becasue that way it would prove the effectiveness and value of this set up and system. And if changes were unsuccessful I'd give Ashley much more credit for committing money to it than not. Good players are good players, if they fail when they come here it has nothing to do with there transfer fee. the only picture that people should be considering is how much the squad is improved. The fact that a £10m failure would be more accpetable than a £10k failure says alot about you're way of thinking. I didnt relaise you were from the NE5 school of thinking. Expenisve players = good players Cheap players = s*** players. thats effectively what you;re saying. Presumably in your world, Man Utd and Chelsea winning everything is in no way linked to the amount of money they spend. man utd built on the nevilles, scholes, butt, giggs, beckham. the backbone of what they've achieved really. What's your point? you can improve without having to spend ridiculous amounts. So why does Fergie have three £30m centre forwards, a £30m centre half, four £20m midfielders? why's he also got darren fletcher, john o'shea, evans, park and a good crop of youngsters. did you read what i posted about "you can improve" ? which is what we need right now. if we want to challenge man utd we may need to spend big but as of right now improving in reality comes before dreaming. You can improve but it's unlikely. Generally clubs who spend nothing go nowhere. generally we've outspent arsenal in tha past -

Expenisve players = good players Cheap players = s*** players. thats effectively what you;re saying. Not at all. Better players generally cost more money. This is indisputable; even the crappiest club knows when it has a decent player on its hands and can attempt to fleece a Premier League club. Ashley has spent hardly anything so far, and to me that signifies a lack of ambition for the club. I'm not demanding we spend loads and loads of money, far from it. All I'm saying is that if we spend £10m net this window and keep players like Shay Given, not only will it almost guarantee a decent calibre of player coming in, it will be a major sign of commitment from our owner to me. A sign that perhaps he wasn't lying the other week when he said he was committed to moving us forward again. A sign that he wants to see us progress out of the mire. A sign that he's willing to invest in the playing staff. If we can improve the squad for pennies then brilliant. I'd then want to know where that money saved is going. in general it costs big bucks to get good players.....however it is not a hard and fast rule, bosmans, good scouting etc -
Then why do the likes of KK, Capello, Wenger and Ferguson always bleat on about confidence? Aye, Owen scored at the weekend. What happenned? we f***ed it up. Not going to do his confidence good one iota. And its not just about confidence in ones own ability, it is about confidence in the team, and if Owen doesn't have confidence in his team mates, he is not going to have the full mentality to consistently put the ball in the back of the net. confidence doesnt eradicate quality a lack of confidence diminishes a players quality, i cant see how there can even be any argument against that. Might diminish it, but it doesnt eradicate it, the chances tonight were simple, put on a plate for him. exactly, he is physically able to do it and do it often, so why did he miss them tonight? and perhaps even more tellingly why did xisco miss a sitter too? because sometimes you miss. even the best players have moments when the even the basice evade them.

how much of your money are you risking ? I dont see what your point is, am I the owner of NUFC? We need a new central midfielder worth at least £8million, never mind our whole budget being £8million. So it's not possible to buy a good midfielder for less than £8 million? In todays market? I wouldnt bank on them being much better than what we already have considering this budget will be split amongst at least 2 signings. depends where you shop I would say, if you want Premiership proven then you will have to pay the going rate but there's plenty of talented players kicking around Europe if you know where to look. Sounds easy, have you emailed the club? Not sure what point you're trying to make tbh, are you saying we couldn't pick up a better midfielder than Butt in France for £4 million? NUFC clearly don't believe so. Why's that? Because they haven't done it? Instead they've offered Butt a new contract and given Ameobi one. Because the manager wanted them to stay as part of the squad? That doesn't mean that Butt will be seen as a first choice player or that they won't try to bring in better, if Kinnear is after M'Bia then I don't see him coming here as back up to Butt. you could finish that sentence after "here" -

He was 1 on 1 with the keeper at one point, how does he not score given the quality he possesses? A ball is sailing to him, falling to his head perfectly, all he has to do is get it on target, again given his quality how does he not score? It has nothing to do with his confidence in his team mates. Like I already said, those were easy chances and confidence doesnt eradicate quality, he should have scored tonight, he had 2 good chances to do it and took neither. The team f***ing up at the weekend is irrelevant to Owen's confidence as a goal scorer, he scored and that does well for his confidence in terms of scoring goals if anything. i've seen better forwrads than owen have games where they've missed a few sitters, but his goals record speaks for itself...if he normally misses that many he must be the best in the world at getting into the positions to get sitters in the first place.
