They are also under pressure from their editors to sell papers,it seems lke it's not accepted in the trade to write reasoned, well balanced pieces in preference to those headline grabbing scare stories. The irony is however that if a paper did that, then word would get around pretty fast amongst the fans and their readership I would venture would increase. They under estimate the intelligence level of the fans. If a newspaper did employ this guy for example as a permenant hack, writing NUFC in place of their current guy, I have no doubt his work would turn the same way as others in the trade. then it's up to those that buy the shit not to.

The clubs set the price.... I agree however Arsenal, Liverpool, Barca, Chelsea, Man Utd ect won't be paying anywhere near the £23 million Zenit are demanding. If the reports were true that Keegan had the £16-18 million package for Modric then the club might well be in a position that they can offer the nearest to what Zenit want. For Keegan its the Modric/Arshavin type of signing he needs to spire head his 4-3-3/diamond system in my opinion if it is going to be the long term formation. with modric we could look to make that back and maybe more if he were to move on again. unlikely with arshavin given his age.

sidwell is a better player than many on here give him credit for. gets through the work,has as good a range of passing as butt and gets a goal or two. as ever wether i'd be happy to get him depends on the price and how much we have available.

Owen missed plenty of clear opportunities, while Oba often shows good composure and cool finishing when one on one with the keeper.. i'd say that Owen is the cleverer player, but Martins' finishing instinct isn't bad either.. indeed, Owen is the more instinctive and intelligent, but in terms of overall finishing they're pretty much on a par. Oba brings so much more to the team i disagree with you...martins looks more exciting however owens holding up of the ball is better,as is his passing and positioning.

Sidwell isn't a defensive midfielder. Neither was speed mate. People are being far too simplistic about this. In my opinion Sidwell would make an excellent signing if we converted him into a DM, for the long term. i.e use coaching skills.... they haven't been used in a while at our club. Rather go for a proper DMC than fitting square pegs in round holes. rather go for two midfielders who done the lot (rob lee/roy keane stylee)

he dribbles down blind alleys,he shoots wide,got a decent cross in 1 game out of 4. he has the ability to become a very good first teamer for us...has he the desire ? and he certainly doesn't have that extra that ginola had. if you took off your turd tinted specs and picked up another pair between them and rose tinted you might find a balanced opinion of the lad makes me sick the stick he gets off people after all the chances we gave to wasters like kieron dyer, titus bramble etc... over the years...as far as i know zog has done nothing to bring the club into disrepute and is suffering from the number of changes that have taken place in recent years, plus lets not forget he's got the biggest arsehole on the planet for an agent who is no doubt f***ing with his head every 5 minutes look at oba - under roeder he did well as roeder bought him and he was first choice, under allardyce oba looked a heap of crap 'cause he was being asked to do things that weren't natural to his game and he wasn't given the managers faith to be our main striker, under KK he was given the faith again and we were rewarded obviously footballs not as simple as all that and zog evidently has other issues (such as family) but if you don't think with the right management and playing in the right position for us he could be a star then we're talking about 2 different players and very probably a different game thats the difference between us. i look at what he is whereas you just compare him to wasters. re read my original post you'll find it very balanced.....has the ability but hasn't played consitently well for 2 years. can we use the "under different manager excuse for every player who doesn't do it ? agreed he hasn't played well consistently for 2 years but to ignore the context of those 2 years is nonsensical, i.e. he played most of his games last season at LB for example, or had a great season and was replaced by duff...but yeah, fine, he shouldn't be dwelling on that as much as he has but anyway you're right i'm wrong, he's got a bad attitude lets sell him for f*** all and rely on damien i'd rather a manager with a proven track record of getting wingers playing well give him a season, if he's not interested then then so be it mrmajor in "childish lets put words in other peoples mouths " outburst. you were right on one count mind....i'm right...you're wrong.
