Have a word with yourself Madras; he missed them both so he didn't do everything right. Like he also missed against Wigan in the same position (& Everton? too when he came on as half time sub with his first touch). Take a look at the goals he has scored of late, fox in the box or headers, decent chances on the deck & he has missed. The real sad thing is that Martins is no better at putting that type of chance in. the header was aswell hit as he could have, the side footer was as ronaldos last week in the same position...if harper had saved that you'd have wet your knicks. fucked up for the one in the first half like i said.

he also has the weird idea of ,when under pressure, play it down the channel, hopefully a forward may read it and go for (unlucky for him the last forward we had to read that was les ferdinand)

disheartening today. owen done everything right on two chances, two very good saves and blew the one where he got past the keeper. i'd still like to have seen n'zogbia in the middle instead of barton who,to be fair created two very good chances but diappeared for the other 89mins defensivly and offensivly.

I heard a good training method is to play Wall with someone else. You have to kick the ball at the wall in such a way that the other player can't return it, so you end up having to play the ball at some really awkward moments which you otherwise would avoid. Wallie! Its been a while. What a game! is that not the game known as "spot" ? and isn't keefaz's wembley doubles not "world cup doubles" ? "garages" was my own personal favourite

i wish martins would use his pace and work the channels a bit more. his pace is like crouch's height in that it seems like they both it's unfair to use them.

You told me you were s*** a while back I was being humble. Actually thinking about my 'ability' I'm not that bad to be fair to myself. My control is sloppy and very poor but I have decent technique and can proudly say that I am comfortably and genuinly two-footed. I'm not the strongest physically and I'm piss poor in the air and skills wise, I have none. You won't catch me doing a trick. I'm not the most elegant at dribbling either (due to my poor control) but I'm lightning quick and my decision making is of a high standard. I also work extremely hard, have good leadership qualities as I am very vocal and I have an excellent attitude on the pitch. I also have good spatial awareness and a creative brain, not that what I try comes off all that often. All down to a street football education too. so basically, you are quick, know what to do but don't have the talent to do it ?

If we survive, it won't be disgraceful. It'll have given him 5 months to have a look at the players at the club and 5 months to scout players. If we survive, it'll have been a wise decision not to sign anyone in the Jan window. Wise? Jesus Christ. It will be fortunate. Wise would of been getting some players in who could spark a very poor season. Wise? mackems.gif Fuking hell. Typical short-term outlook. Wise? Fortunate? Semantics as far as I'm concern. We won't be stuck with overpaid players whom we've overpaid for and might not even need. Typical short term look? Shut the fuk up man, If you cannot see that our inactivity in the winter window has had a negative effect on this club you want (and i've thought this for a while now) shot with your own s***. We are already stuck with overpaid wasters, and what's to say KK in the summer (and what's to say he would do it in the winter window) wont do the same again or equally as bad, stick with the wasters we've got and treat them like 1st teamers? inactivity ? the club was active but without getting the players in...there is a difference. if you can not get in the players you want do you think it's right to get others in for the sake of it ?

we gave up our team due to skinny, wimpy 20 year old wankers throwing themselves on the ground as soon as you looked a them. no point in playing with people like that. just stick to the pub now.
-
there we go then...if we spend more than that in the summer i'd vote to keep NE5 but have a " mackems.gif" killing party

the line in sand has been drawn

he'll take into account inflation, check the stat of evary player and slag each one off for not being brilliant or climb aboard the bandwagon (begrudgingly) He'll only conceed in 10 years time when Ashley et al have helped us to finish in the top 10, 4 times. you mean "top4 ,10 times" ?

I love the smiley, it removes the need to reply. i hate that smiley now. now and again NE5 does come up with a good point but his use of that smiley is like my older sisters fake gloating laugh when we were kids.

weeelll....i don't know. now and again we've had floods the dutch (breda) were very canny, the turks (fener...crushed dog shit)were worth it for the giggle....who are you protesting against ?

But doesn't extend as far as a club hovering above relegation spending £150M? I haven't got a clue what your point is. I think this phrase "trophy player" is f****** stupid and only dreamed up by people aiming to shoot the last chairman for the hideous crime of trying to back his manager to buy quality players. Which leads on of course to the current situation, and the fact that alll these superior "team" players have left us with a better team. Of course. In my opinion, if the club has spent 150m quid [over what time period] then they obviously haven't bought enough of these despicable "trophy" players, because if they did, we would be doing a lot better, like the big 4 who buy these despicable "trophy" players all the time Ashley, Mort and average players are obviously better though mackems.gif the same average players (or expendature as 03-04,04-05) ?

Why do we keep showing one way loyalty to players who have never given a monkey's chuff about us in the past? Fat Fred kept trying to sign Carrick and Matt Jansen based on their north east heritage. Carrick preferred West Ham and Jansen chose Blackburn. So of course, now he's playing for Man U's first team, Carrick is suddenly going to give it all up to come 'home'. The only time I know that we've looked at Carrick was when we needed a replacement for Butt, Robson wanted Carrick but Shepherd told him he'd have to wait until January to get him as his contract was up that Summer, we signed Butt for around the same money West Ham wanted for Carrick and he went to Spurs later that Summer. can you back that up ? Yes. you got me there...i thought he went to spuds for more than that. then again even at spurs he never imprssed me so where does that leave us ?

carrick is in the right team where he is,as a player i never particularly rated at west ham or spuds, he fits right in at man utd. time to pick passes, always accurate. he could be one of those who has to be in the right team.

get rugby union refs in or at least get refs in who'll stand up(it's been the smae since i was a kid) the laws are already set out (i believe...no doubt i'll get contrdicted by one of the black/green/yellow shirted blind bastards on here). it's the piss takingly simple stuff that winds people up which is so easily stamped out... ...shouting and effing and blinding...ungentlemanly conduct/foul and abusive language..take action ....failure to retreat for a free kick etc....tell once then book(the whole wall if necessary)....is the rule about advancing the ball 10yds still active ? the referee should walk into each dressing room before the game and say "anything you want brought to my attention shall be done by your captain, shout at me,swear at me..booked or off. dead balls, retreat immediatly 10 yds,i'll tell you once ,if you don't do it..booked." we may have a couple of weeks with loads sent off but if kept with the players will realise this and not do it.

---------Neville---Carsley-------- Osman-------------------Pienaar --------------Cahill---------------- I'd like to see us play something similar: -------- Geremi - Faye -------- Milner ------------------ Duff/Zog ----------- Smith/Duff ---------- Owen/Martins Which is basically how we used to play pre Shearer under Keegan. the movement under keegans first spell newcastle teams meant it was hard to work out a clear formation. pav/hislop/hooper was in goal...cole/ferdinand was up front(till shearer came) and in between was very mobile and fluid.

I can't believe anyone would be mad enough to build a team around a player like Michael Owen, who looks a. distinctly like he doesn't give a s*** and b. past it. I worry that his name/reputation will convince Keegan to give it another go rather than move on. If KK has a chance to sign a better player, or someone he feels will be more beneficial to the team and the way he intends to get us playing, Owen will make way. He may not peddle him but he will drop him or have him fighting for his place like everyone else which will be based on merit. I don't think Keegan will have been impressed with Owen, a player he has never really rated even when he was in his pomp. I can see the two parting ways, club and player. It wouldn't surprise me to see Sven come in for him and for us to take a loss. I'm not so sure. I mean he made Owen captain, plus Owen has scored a couple of late (and more which have been unfairly ruled off-side). Plus he's a good selling point for bringing players in... especially when you don't have European football. I personally believe his decision to make Owen Captain was more of a peace gesture and to thwart the media from causing trouble between the two and their much publicized difference of opinions relating back to their time together with England. That and to motivate Owen, a player who Keegan would need onside to make his job a little easier and to fire in the goals to take us through to the end of the season. Hasn't quite happened like that but I would hazard a good guess those are very good reasons behind his decision making. Make no mistake about it, KK can be very ruthless. He got rid of the player (David Kelly) who saved us from relegation and whose goals helped fire us to promotion because he didn't believe he was good enough for the Premier League or quite what he had in mind as to how he'd have us playing once we got there. He also sold fans' favourite Andy Cole to our then rivals Manchester United because he wanted to change the way we played which would mean bringing in a player with those different qualities and a different presence we talked about. Sir Les. And on that subject, KK took his number 9 shirt off him and handed it to Shearer, which is something Shearer stipulated if he was to sign for us. Don't be fooled by the nice guy image and the media persona. None of which means anything. History doesn't always repeat itself you know. true but he does have a reputation for being cute and cuddly to the cameras but being quite ruthless with the playing staff at all his clubs.

but it would take more than 10-15 secs as when he's checking one incident another has occured and corners will get weird "right it's a penalty because the defence committed 6 fouls while the attack only committed 4 fouls" i'm all for having refs as that random variable....like the weather.

i honestly don't think the standard has got any worse since i started watching football in the 70's
