  1. Or Krafth right and Trips left ?
  2. We currently have Tino and Trips capable of playing there also. Its just unfortunate that 2 out of the first 4 choices for full back are injured. There's only so much cover you can prepare for.
  3. Tbf it seemed like he was just about to really start using Anderson when he got injured. Who else should we be using ? Shahar ? Alex Murphy ?
  4. Do the signing of Woltemade and Ramsey not hint of a change to that system ?

I wonder if that was the plan yesterday, keep the width and try to play Nick on for oncoming centre Mids ? If so it didn't work and Nick didn't get enough in that position.

And Id say Nick needs to adapt to being more of a spearhead when we play a 3. Its a 2 way thing which will come. Sounds bizarre but from that point of view, champions league and having international players is bit of a hindrance giving less training pitch time. Dont underestimate the loss of Lewis Hall from am attacking point if view as well

Nobody did you know. Good point.

I dont think he would have had Botman been fit season before last (champs league season) he'd have been rotated and then the choice would have been for the bigger games. Your "evidence" is skewed by how often and for how long Botman and Hall have been injured.

Not what I saw, especially after Murphy came on.

That was when Livra and Hall were very new here. Burn will get rotated this season injuries permitting

    Jake Burns as well (SLF).

Would you class them as Newcastle music, Johnson maybe but Sting couldn't wait to fuck off. Its not like we had a Liverpool or Manchester scene even if we put together.

A lot of that could be circumstance as much as choice. Botman and Hall being injured a hell of a lot

Dave Stewart (Eurythmics......not my sort of thing but can't be ignored), Futureheads, Field Music, Toy Dolls and Angelic Upstarts for older folk. Its like the football field really, precious little for either really to shout about. There's plenty to have a go at them for, this ain't really it. Their bizarre reaction to Sam Fender is mind but thats got nowt to do with music, thats all "hes one of them doing good so hate it" like when some on here were happy that they the film studio thing at Sunderland fell through.

Really ? What's the definition of Sunderland music as opposed to Newcastle music ? We've been through all this recently.

I think he woukd now if Hall were fit.

There definitely is room for improvement and he was poor today (Elanga) but we are so disjointed going forward no one looks good. (And I'll whisper it, Woltemades goal was good but it was an Ok game, fluffed a free header and looks to lay off quick all the time, needs to hold up 30yds out now and again and show positively more........ but we're all just getting used to each other with little training pitch time to do it)

Deffo and thats where Elanga comes in who at Forest loved to exploit between Full back and Centre half.
  20. That means we change the entire way we play. Today the gap was about 10yds. Should Tonali drop 5 onto Botmans toes ? If anything they should have pushed up Mid and Def and usually would if not frightened about their pace between Trips/Burn and CHs.

Imagine if he got into better positions. It was said when he signed hes not a 9 nor a 10. We set up presently requiring a 9. Its gonna take for everything to change.
  22. Which one, right, left or centre? Wouldn't that allow them to push on more into the gap hes left ?

    Nick Woltemade

Yes. I also see us working wide on breaks and he's not really there. He will, but right now hes not. And if hes not going to be the plan isn't to play him up front and centre in our current 433. Im not pointing this out, they know this. He's evolutionary and we are playing him as we need to right now
  24. Thought he started today so Murphy starts on Tuesday. Same with Joelinton/Ramsey.
  25. That was how the ball broke. Throughout the game we set up flat and there was a gap between midfield and defence (do you want them on each others toes ?), the defence weren't outnumbered so could pick up players as and when balls were played through. If their players take up between our midfield and defence do you want our midfield to drop onto them or try to block the passing channel ? Or do we go man to man all over ?
