  1. Re northerngimp about perch freeing up the midfield......quite possibly Santon and debuchy also.
  2. Perch will play just in front of the centre halves. Cabaret, sissoko and jonas in front of him.
  3. Krul Debuchy Colo Taylor Santon Perch Cabaret Sissoko Jonas Gouffran Cisse Not sure about positioning
  4. with you all the way, spot on, 100%............till that final sentence
  5. I like that as well. Anita and Cabaye have ball distribution way ahead of Perch or Tiote. no need for someone to be able to drop that bit to cover for our full backs ? Sissoko can do everything tonight - defend, attack, look sexy. He's proper box to box. too box to box to do the job of letting the full backs push on.

  7. This is a very sensible post. However, when Agbonlahor starts running at Taylor from the half way line, and he backs off all the way back onto the goal line, allowing for Agbonlahor to square it to Benteke for a tap in, we'll all be raging. can't remember taylor really being done for pace, why should it happen now. if thats the case there's more chance it happening to colo.
  8. thats my position basically. no way will williamson start....shola on the other hand ?
  9. anyway, it reads like what he's saying is, "i only want to go back to argentina because of my personal problems", not "i would only go back if i had personal problems"
  10. the more i think of it the more i think he'll play cabaye and sissoko centreally, as much for cabaye to help talk sissoko through the game.
  11. So the whole thing has been a massive f*** up, all Colo has ever said "the only time i'd go back to argentina, was if i had personal problems" which translated into he has personal problems and wants to go home. Hyped up by the media and random bullshit speculation. Great. or "what do i need to say to give me an easier few months here"
  12. f***ing tragic tbh. The lad has already come in raring to go. Was hoping we wouldn't deflate his eagerness from the off. Having said that, if he does come in and make a mistake it could also work against him. We'll see I suppose. Main thing is that he turns out to be a bigger character than we think and accepts that Taylor's experience in the league over his could turn out to be vital in this particular fixture. It just wouldn't make any sense in starting Taylor over him, it's a far bigger risk considering he's not match fit and his injury record is horrible. Yanga-Mbiwa has had a week to train with the lads now as well, should definitely be enough. At least Sissoko will start, really looking forward to watching him play. no idea how fit saylor is but benteke can use his height and no doubt if mapou played they'd go that way a bit more. also one thing mapou doesn't give is much in the opposition box, given the way villa have defended corners and high free kicks into the box it's something that has to be thought of. taylors not the quickest on his feet but he rarely gets done for pace, reads the game better than he's given credit for. if saylor was 100% fit i'd give him the nod for tonight, who nows how ready he is though ?

That's what I reckon will happen. Would honestly be baffling for him to start Taylor. Yanga-Mbiwa has exactly the right type of temperament to come in to things straight away. I think a factor will be how s*** Villa are at defending corners and that Taylor is probably our biggest threat from them. Plus Taylor already has a decent understanding with Colo and they've always done very well as a partnership. Not saying I fully agree, just that I can see where he's coming from if that's how he plays it. Everything depends on whether Saylor is fit to start obviously. No point risking him of course, but it would be good for him to get back in amongst it, whilst taking a little bit of pressure of the Yanga-Mbiwa debut. I would be happy to see both get some playing time ahead of the tough fixtures coming up. could easily understand it if saylor was fully fit. depends if he is though.
  14. so, so true. been through some shitty times in my life and football, both playing and watching has given some welcome respite from the worries etc.
  15. anyone else think pardew had just about decided to start sissoko on the bench, bed him in etc.......seen him for just one day in training and thought "fuck that, he's in"

How many on seeing that offer have to go back and change into something blue, black or green ?
  18. no he didn't. not when signing for blackburn. I swear they mentioned it? maradona went to napoli for 5million in the early 80's didn't he. then ther was the likes of lentini and baggio went for more than that. theres bound to be more.
  19. hey it's possible, just it's not something that stood out on the few occasions i watched him.
  20. no he didn't. not when signing for blackburn.
  21. he was a classic winger in france but they don't look for the cross played in but the pass played in. Tbf i think this has something to do with his injuries.... he use to have loads of pace apparently and he probably has been forced to change his game a bit to adapt. i don't remember his pace being all that, it was more his balance that took him past defenders, the clue being he could go inside and out, thats more a balance thing than a pace thing.
  22. full backs getting the ball off the keeper, either centre half, perch and either sissoko, anita or cabaye if need be. I agree that there would be other options as well, but we need one centrally in midfield as well, and if Cabaye/Sissoko go a bit deeper to look for the ball that would mean that Perch would have to push forward a bit so that we get some playing depth, but then we'd have less quality there instead with Perch in a more offensive position. it's not like sissoko, cabaye and anita have to stay away and perch has been ok on the ball, i'm only saying this for this one game till sissoko has a chance to get used to things at least for a day or two and given the full backs we have.
  23. lambias will have a little tug on his sleeve before he leads the team out "and just remember, any silly stunts like deliberatly playing shit and we'll keep your registration till the very......last.....day!"
