bale interfering with play imo shouldn't have stood

That briefly typoed thread title giving me hope

didn't we have a 3-5-2 as a secret weapon that was derailed by late injury earlier in the season?
-
work being done behind the scenes won't be held to ransom no value in the january market deal wasn't right happy with the squad he has returning injured players like new signings readying targets for the summer

Tiote's disallowed goal against Man City saw a load of pundits and ex-refs being smart-arses and explaining why due to the different phases of play it was the correct decision, then Man City (or some similar cunts) scored exactly the same goal, no offside was given and no-one even mentioned the possibility it was offside. I think with video refs it would be the same outcome, ours would be referred to the video ref and disallowed, a big team's wouldn't. Isn't the problem there the subjective interpretation of 'interfering with play' call? There's still loads of fucked normal offside calls where that wouldn't apply and be a problem that could be corrected.

Any decision where a referee has to judge human intent (fouls & subsequent yellow/red card, diving, etc) should be left to humans. Things with more concrete yes/no answers (goals, offsides, ball being out of play, etc) being left up to tech or a 4th official with video review is fine. In this respect I don't know that I see a slippery slope of everything going to review.

You laugh but if you knew much about business and the economy it honestly is about being in the right place at the right time. Obviously the harder you work and the more intelligent you are the greater chance you have of making it, but do you not think 100s of other people aren't doing exactly that as well? I agree it's also not just hard work but there has to be a drive - a certain type of ruthlessness and determination to see things through and also the cunning to carve out opportunities where others don't see them - in order to rise above the hundred-thousandaire club of quasi-successful entrepreneurs and into the millionaire+ brackets. Ashley obviously possesses these traits, cunt that he is. edit: In that respect I don't think it's down to luck, unless we're being pedantic and saying the luck of him being born with those genes . But a lot of the rest is - environment, initial opportunities, upbringing etc. I'd just never put a percentage on what space each of those occupy.

I mean, it won't happen, but you could also look at it as sold for 35m, rebought for 18m ... so we're paid 17m for him to develop at undoubtedly far better places in Liverpool and West Ham whilst not being Pardewed.

the manager is too much of a coward to say what needs saying about the urgent requirement for new players, or he's complicit in agreeing not to sign any which is just as bad the MD proved last season he knows not a f***ing thing about the game of football ashley is absent and concentrating on SD which is worth billions leaving all control to charnley carr is a scout and there's nothing worth saying about moncur my prediction is very little useful transfer business if any and relegation, a normal club would ensure at least 1 player in for manyoo in order to try and make something happen, not this set of clueless bellends the manager is too much of a coward to say what needs saying about the urgent requirement for new players, or he's complicit in agreeing not to sign any which is just as bad How do you work out he too much of a coward to ask for players ? unreal statement, unless you go to the board meetings .... we have 17 points after 20 games man, everyone who has watched us knows we're in desperate need of players all over the pitch and a manager in his situation traditionally would be putting the onus on the board by publicly stating he needs players to make changes but steve is either too scared of losing his job to do so (a la mr pardew) or he's agreed it all up front (as mr pardew might have done tbf) what's the alternative, that he thinks everything really is fine? not a very good one Just because he does not come out in the press and say things does not make him a coward. as I say unreal statement. I am sure with his job on the line he will be asking for more players. unreal to think he not. But as everyone knows the manager at Newcastle has little if any say on transfers. of course they're not the only two options known to man in this scenario, but they're the most likely knowing what we know of the people in charge and the way they operate he's on the board ffs, he knows what's going on or we've been lied to about that as well what gives you faith in any level of honesty at the club after all this time with ashley, 4 years of pardew and then carver? I have no faith, but my point is you called him a coward not asking for players. how do work this out . unless you are in meeting with them you have no idea what is said, like everyone on here. I am sure most managers would like to strengthen their squads each window, so I would imagine he would ask for new players. no i offered two options; first he's a coward because he won't come out and publicly say we need a fresh injection of players ASAP or we're going to be relegated, second he's complicit with charnley et al as part of the board in not doing anything or doing the bare minimum he's supposed to be a football manager man, it shouldn't be his job to manage expectations for the board if that's what he's doing - it should be his job to scream and shout to get more players in because if we don't we're getting relegated...if he comes out and says he wants 4 players in key positions then the pressure is on ashley and charnley isn't it? so he's either afraid to say it, doesn't think it needs saying, or is complicit with the c***s in charge take your pick Just because he says not much in the press does not make him a coward or put pressure on others. too much crap is spoken in the press, we do not know what said in private how much if any money is there for new players.. Neither Ashley or Charnley seem to take much notice of what is said in the press. Everyone should have worked that out by now.. Pardew all over again this like. Reins are a little tighter now than anything. Irons in the fire and failing to get them "over the line" obviously didn't go down to well, so they've crafted a "we're working behind the scenes in private. You'll be the last to know" response to any and all inquiries that would seem less verifiable and more bulletproof. Stay on-message, Steve.

Pleased with the postal service today. Put in an amazing effort. Tough to criticize the mailman although he left the package a half mile away on the roadside near all the other abandoned boxes, because he worked ever so hard. I'm sure eventually packages will find their way to where they belong if he keeps doing what he's doing. Unlucky not to get it there today.

terrified of going on a lung busting run
-
think we just need to give up on headers tbh
-
i would hav taken it at 68 minutes just to know steve is capable of changing things before the 83rd
-
tight shirt is doing him no favors.
-
seriously if the collective bad ref decisions lead to our drop and ashley fucks off you'll all be sorry for calling them mean names. just imagine they're fighting the good fight.
-
the inexplicable ref decisions are more palatable if you imagine they're all in on trying to dick newcastle into relegation so ashley fucks off

need to see the ox-perez tackle again but thought I saw on on replay the ref wasn't even looking at it, but looks back, sees Perez down and decides he must have missed something (or maybe got a shout in his earpiece), plays advantage, but has no idea how good or bad the tackle was. This is not a defense, no excuse, etc.
