Don't get me wrong I love Anita and think hes a good player but hes done no better than the likes of Sissoko, Tiote, Cisse.... His pass to Cisse on the box was nice but like the only time he touched the ball. Sissoko has been lively.

As harsh as it is, everything about him just screams average.

Agree with this. Always find myself thoroughly bemused at the criticism he gets. He's involved in almost everything we do going forward as the only midfielder (that starts) who is even vaguely capable of creating anything. With that amount of responsibility it's hardly surprising that he doesn't do everything right given that he's not even playing in his own position but has been reinvented as a winger in the complete absence of anyone else who can do the job (apart from Hatem Ben Shitbag but we don't talk about him). Agree with this. Feel like people forget about the major contributions he has in nearly all of our wins - be it through his counter attacking, assists, or few goals - he's essential to us with that pace of his. Far from the finished article - good coaching could make him an immense player. Teach him to use his pace and upper body strength to body up on his man and muscle them off the ball and break forward and lay the ball off sooner then later. I still think this shouldn't need to be coached to him. He should fucking know it. Unless he grew big the night before we signed him and he's not used to his body yet.

People moan about every misplaced pass and poor shot where I sit. It doesn't matter who does it. As an extreme example, I imagine Real Madrid fans have higher expectations of Ronaldo and they do of a lot of their other players. Newcastle fans don't have many creative players to cheer so when Ben Arfa has a less than good game it stands out more. If we had a few creative players there would be less pressure and expectation on Ben Arfa. Gouffran's spell of goal scoring is probably what has kept him in the side. He doesn't really have any competition for the left wing. Is Ronaldo dropped often when he loses the ball once or twice? Gouffran never went anywhere near the left wing today. Haven't a clue where he was meant to be playing, wherever it was he was ineffective. Not worth his place, certainly not ahead of Ben Arfa. When you've got a player like that, you don't just find a place for him, you build the team to get the best out of him. The left wing was a desolate place this afternoon Doesn't help that Santon is like Cafu when compared to Dummett. But yeah, I was baffled by Gouffran's role, doubt he knew himself where he was supposed to be.

Just finished watching. Weird game, we created more chances that I expected with that lineup but were really shaky at the back. Cisse did everything well but score until the last minute, guess it's positive that he's getting chances and today he even managed to hit the target with most of them (Speroni's chest tho but that's better than the stands). Hatem lifted the whole team once again. Happy with the points, really average performance.

Clueless Why was it a red then? Deliberate handball is a yellow card unless there is a potential goal scoring opportunity involved. AOX didn't stop the ball from going in. Christ! Hes almost on the line and throws himself at the ball to save it, its a clear pen man. Potentially he was stopping a goalscoring chance as he/the ref/no other f***er in real time could possibly know different, basically you are talking crap Of course it was a pen. I just think the red card is harsh as the ball was going wide. That's it. Outfield player playing goalie in the line is the one instance where I agree with the penalty+red. The ref or AOC didn't know the ball was going wide, it doesn't matter.
