All moot points with the new semi-automated technology though but I don't really understand the constant crying about the offside rule when it will always be tight, no matter where you draw the line. Someone will always be offside by the length of a toenail.
-
Where would you draw the line on what is clear and obvious offside and what is not? And wouldn't that just be even worse for possible corruption that you're worried about? What if someone is 1cm over the clear and obvious threshold, still onside or offside?
-
Because it isn't subjective, you're either onside or offside (based on the current technology). Linesmen still have corners and throw-ins to decide.

Agree that there has to be some limits. Us being unable to buy anyone in January was a joke but I'm a bit surprised about the amount of people who want us to go full Man City on spending while saying what a soulless club they are and nobody cares when they win. Current FFP is obviously a joke that exists only to protect the big ones and keep the shop closed. There has to be some kind of balance between limiting and allowing spending but it seems impossible to implement, too many clubs only thinking about themselves and you can't just reset history even if it made the most sense. Wish everything was as simple as American sports where any well run team can become champions in few years but obviously that system, even the wage cap is almost impossible to have in a sport where there are more than one big league.

Why are we at that level?

This could be seen as ’new money’ arrogant but I don’t think Mbeumo is the RW purple everyone has been dreaming of every transfer window since the takeover. I see him more as a squad player for current NUFC. Would be a decent buy for £20-25m but I don’t see that much value for the £40m+ it would probably take to get him. That money would be pretty close to getting you Olise if the release clause rumours are true and we could beat all the other suitors.
-
Why is EVERYONE always spelling his name wrong, it's six letters ffs?
-
This doesn't make any sense. 2nd most clean sheets and 5th best goals conceded per 90 because he plays for a 'garbage' team? And the shot quality been given up by 'garbage' teams is usually high. He's clearly a good goalkeeper and him at SJP is always a bit of a throwback, it's class and fun how he tries to wind up his local rivals despite being an Everton player for ages now.
-
It's not easy to make yourself a free agent, would expect him to take full advantage of it and not make hasty decisions. If that means he's not coming here, it's a shame but we move on and sign someone else, not that big of a deal.
-
I’m not blaming anyone else but I don’t think Man Utd beat us comfortably. Perfect time to face Man City too, just jammy cunts like I said before.
-
Jammy fucking cunts and Man City can fuck off for being on the beach already.
-
Could be as bad as a lifetime ban like NBA just gave to one player.
-
Should be way worse than what Toney and Tonali got.
-
So many goals but not that many really good ones now that I think about it, weird.
-
? I said it doesn't really affect his play.
-
He has quick first few steps proved by his ability to go past players but his pace on +10-15 meter sprints is one of the worst in the league. Doesn't really matter though unless he's trying to sprint back to defend a counter-attack.
-
There are no free transfers. Lack of fee usually means a massive signing bonus and higher wages than on a normal transfer.
-
Will be hard to try to move him if they want to at some point if the reported £150k a week salary is accurate (unless Saudi Arabia). I believe that was TCD's point but I have no idea how he did this season.

Think Man City and Arsenal are the only teams we can't realistically finish above in the league. Fighting for top 4 should be the goal but it's hard to say who the main rivals for that are going to be. Villa and Liverpool should regress, Spurs and Chelsea are wild cards but Chelsea have some momentum if they keep Poch. I would be shocked (or not after so many seasons?) if Man Utd once again don't care about any underlying stats and are up there. Hope and pray we get the Conference League spot. Should be a fun campaign and we could rotate a lot. Would still have some effect on league as we can't focus all week on next league opponents but who cares, skipping Europe to have a better chance qualifying in a year is absolute bollocks. We would have a legit chance to win it and the coefficient gains would be really important, both financially and competitively. Also a stacking effect, easier groups in the future would mean more prize money and even more coefficient gains. Can't wait for it, love that it's a major tournament summer.

It's a bit ironic when people whine that he should have been playing earlier when Hall himself has said he needed to do better. Eddie put him into the best possible place to succeed like he has done with so many others, him getting any stick for it is a bit mad.
